Are you a Bears fan? Your Bears posts are full of hatred. Maybe you should do something else on Sundays.

I do hope they launch Mel Tucker though.

This Eagles team is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I hope they beat Dallas, make the playoffs and win the Super Bowl.

Okay, so it's okay for the Bears to go 500 in the first year of a new coach's system, but as for the other team with a new coach and new system - the Eagles, you expect that they win the Super Bowl? Why not expect that out of the Bears then?

The Bears have not shown any competence in recent years (ahem decades) that would lead me to believe they can put together a team that will go to a SB and win it.

Yay, they have a CFL coach with a mediocre at best QB in Cutler! They SHOULD have been rebuilding the Defense over the last few years but didn't and now they are reaping what they've sown. Old, bad and ouchy.

This Bears team is almost as big of a disappointment as the Cubs. They've won one fucking SB in almost 30 years. This from a charter franchise no less.

Listen, keep drinking the orange and blue Kool Aid and enjoy yourself. I mean no ill will against you but you will be sorely disappointed in investing anything in this shoddy organization. I learned years ago to look at this team with a stink-eye because they are more inclined to fail than succeed.

I don't believe they will win the SB this year, there's no chance. My comment you quoted was more to complicate a different poster's line of thinking.

We've gone through this before, but I think you're wrong on at least two points: 1) They did put together a team that could go to the Super Bowl, and we know that because they did indeed go in 2006 and lost; 2) There is hope on offense; we know the D sucks, and so does the D coordinator, but again you have four players in their prime at RB, WR, and TE, and an average to slightly above average O-line. You add a couple more pieces to the O and I'm fine with that.

I don't "expect" the Eagles to win the Super Bowl. I'm a big fan of coaches like Kelly who are innovative & who go against the grain & I am rooting for them & would like to see them win. The Eagles offense is the most fun & entertaining offense in the NFL right now.

So much to criticize. Where to start?

I guess at the beginning.

First of fucking all, Podlesh should be cut tonight. To-fucking-night. I'm sick of that buster. Fuck him in his ear. I'm sick of his bullshit shank punts.

Second, cut Hester. I've had it with his shit. He should never have been on the team.

Third, this defense is literally the worst run defense in the history of the NFL. That's not an exaggeration. They truly are the worst ever. They're amazingly pathetic.

Fourth, Cutler can make every throw? Oh sure, he can. He just rarely does. Here's yet another big game, a game where everyone knew we needed a big game from the offense, and once again, here we see another sad performance.

Fifth, we got outcoached badly. We weren't ready for anything on either side of the ball. They totally punked us at all times, in all three phases.

Last: here it comes again. We've managed to set it up again for the Packers to knock us out of the playoffs in embarrassing fashion. They'll probably win the Superbowl.

Fuck this team.

And if we re-sign Cutler to a long-term deal? Hooboy. Fuck this team.

One last thing: how pathetic is it that they stick with McClellan? Wow. You talk about not living up to your failings. That by itself is nearly fire-worthy for Emery.

This is what pisses me off more than anything.

If the Packers get in the playoffs and make a run....ugh....makes me sick just to think about it.

That's why I don't buy the "this is no big deal" argument from some of the folks here. Failing to knock out the Packers IS a big deal. You either guarantee a spot tonight, or take your chances next week. Missing out on that guarantee is a big freakin' deal.

Sure, you'd want to win but if you can't beat the Packers at home, likely with Matt Flynn, what's the difference?

I'd bet my balls on the Packers next week. Rogers will come back, and you know they'll kick our asses.

The Eagles are better than the Packers. They've won 6 of 7.

Bears have a home playoff game next week.

I don't believe they're going anywhere even if they make it, but the point for me is making it, and tonight was their chance to lock it up. I think it's important to make it for the experience the players and coaches will earn in this system.

I don't understand how both Shea Mac & Conte are still in the starting lineup. I still cant believe Emery passed on Chandler Jones in the 2012 draft in favor of Shea. This defense is fucking horrible but there aren't many defenses that could hang in there & play well after losing as many starters as the Bears lost of defense this year. The Bears fixed a broken offense in one year. Now they will have the opportunity to do just that with the defense.

As an aside, is there any cooler referee signal than that of safety? I had a chubby just thinking about how Mike Carey was going to form his hands after the booth review.

You beat me to it. I was just going to say that the Eagles are a better team than the Packers. Even if A-Rod plays, he wont be as sharp as he usually is. Bears win at home.

BEARSSS!!!

If I told you before the season started the Bears would face the Matt Flynn led Packers the last game of the season for a chance to win the division and make the playoffs you would have taken it. The Bears are going to be fine.

Sure, I wanted to win it too. But the Bears put themselves in a position to control their destiny to win 1 of 2. They still got this.

Exactly. Before this season, many CSFMB'rs were predicting doom & gloom for this years Bears team. I'm pretty sure that those same folks were pleasantly surprised at how well this team was doing up until tonight. They have exceeded expectations.

Also, if I understood Al Michaels correctly, Josh McCown now likely owns the Bears single season record for QB rating, passing Sid Luckman (McCown needed 4 passes to have enough attempts to qualify). Of course, we don't know if he will see any action next week.

He's been out there throwing for weeks. They can make the playoffs. They put him in next week.

Rodgers isn't playing because they know even a win is meaningless and if he gets crunched that bone is toast until September.

That's no match for the hypothetical talents of Jay Cutler, who scored 11 points today but 34 hypothetical points with dozens of hypothetical precision bullets to smothered receivers for long gains.

He's playing, if nothing else, because it sets up the ultimate kick to the nuts of Bears fans. It's not quite Cubs level, but it's the same general idea.
