that Mancow show is just unwatchable. He sounds like Ray Lewis circa playoffs with his "christian" talk, quoting scriptures, all while he retains all the trappings of a supposed shock jock.

Yeah. When I attended Family Christian Center, he came to speak once. At that point, he didn't have a job. A couple of years later on his show, I saw boobies in bikinis and just...oddities. I wondered what happened to him. A man has to pay his bills I suppose.

Mancow is unwatchable. The guests all stand for starters. Besides, does it beat sister station FOX32's "Good Day Chicago" in the ratings since My50 started airing it last fall? I don't think so...

One-time Chicago radio superstar Mike North will soon be making his return to the Chicago radio airwaves as the host of a new professional football talk show, which will be heard weekly. "The Mike North Pre-Game Show" will air each Sunday throughout the regular 17-week 2013 NFL season from 10:00am-Noon on WIND-AM/AM 560 The Answer. The debut show will be on September 8th.

North himself will be announcing the new radio show in his sports column for the Daily Herald Tuesday morning.

The two-hour Chicago radio show will feature North breaking down NFL football games taking place that day (and the following Monday night game).

"The Mike North Pre-Game Show" is being sponsored by PlaySportsLive.com, a new sports website that gives users the opportunity to create their own interactive football teams to play against others. It will be far more than just a typical "fantasy" football team website, however. With this website, the users will have far greater interactive options, including trading out players during a game.

The PlaySportsLive.com website, which North is not directly involved with, will be launching soon. The radio show is just one part of a large media blitz it will be undertaking, including placing up billboards around Chicagoland.

For over a decade and a half, Mike North was one of the biggest names in Chicago radio, most famously known for being a top host on WSCR-AM/670 The Score for many years. With his outgoing personality, speak-your-mind attitude, and blue collar "everyman" persona, North quickly became a local media superstar, who was either loved or hated by fans. He was a star on WSCR-AM from its inception in January 1992, until his exit from the station in June 2008, leaving after North and CBS Radio could not come to terms on a new contract.

Since then, he has co-hosted morning television shows on Comcast SportsNet Chicago and WBBM-TV. He also had a brokered column page in the Chicago Sun-Times, hosted his own Internet radio show and was a principle executive in the failed Internet sports radio project, ChicagoSportsWebio.com.

North signed with FOX Sports Radio in August 2010. He now does two weekend shows for FOX Sports Radio and is one of the network's principle fill-in hosts. His sports columns can also be read twice a week in the suburban Daily Herald, with custom videos starring North appearing on the Daily Herald's website three times each week. Mike North can also be heard Tuesday mornings on WIND-AM talking with morning show hosts John Howell and Amy Jacobson.

But of course, the EGO gets in the way again. Couldnt have named it the Sunday Football Pregame, Pro Football Preview, or just PREGAME, nope, has to be "The Mike North Pre Game Show" ? So Mike North has a Game?

I will only assume he is going back to his roots here and the show will have a heavy angle towards wagering, but once again, who would know that with the bad press release or the name.

So, now all he needs to do is beat out WSCR, ESPN and WBBM Bears Pre Game shows. No problem. Whats jen Jen's role in this, does she call in?

Honestly, the real spot in the market is Bears post game. Most shows cut out after an hour or so for national programming. Do a four hour post game shift and you would have listeners.
