You need some new glasses my friend. He will never get there.

Who had better weapons this year?

Id say Stafford, but its close when you consider how much better Jeffry is than Detroit's #2 and I think Bush and Forte are a wash.

Actually, Ive been thinking about that lately. Jerry Rice's numbers will suffer the most from this pass happy NFL. He was putting up 1800 yards when it was still an insane number.

Johnson could catch him

Really? It's not even close. Forte is a top 5 running back and Bush is pretty much just a guy. The Bears had better weapons this year.

Even if he caught him numbers wise (I doubt he will) you have to take into account the eras. Right now Stafford is better than Montana and Elway if we look at the numbers.

This year it was close. Bush was pretty awesome.

Well, it's my opinion that Stafford is remarkably similar in style and success as Cutler.

Additionally, he could end up in incredibly similar circumstances as Cutler with the exact same defensive head coach at the same age.

I think it would be fascinating to see if Lovie is different with experience.

We need to bash their heads in until they get it.

I believe he will still try to recreate the Greatest Show on Turf. Especially considering he would be playing on it. He's proven that he is very stubborn.

I've always felt this way. I just can't stomach $17M a year for a guy who has never been responsible for a playoff win.

Stafford is 4-28 vs teams with winning records in his career.

Two of those were this year against the Bears.

I would like to think that getting fired would make him change.

But, secretly, I think you are right. I think he probably believes he should have never been fired. He won 10 games and his way is the way.

Either way, it would be interesting. Hope it doesn't happen. I don't want him in Detroit.

I don't think you can use stats or records to compare the 2. Cutler benefited from the Bears defense and Stafford benefited from superior offensive weapons.

I think it would be awesome if Cutler did an Andre Dawson and just said "I'll do a 1-year at $5mil" just to piss off all the Cutler haters that wouldn't have anything to complain about anymore.

Never happen. But, it would be great.

Now that the Bears have missed the playoffs I should have been praying Cutler threw 5 interceptions a game for his last 3 games. That would have given the Bears the leverage for a discount. He basically had a 3 touchdown (the Jeffery pass was close enough) and 0 interception (last pass doesn't count) game to end the season.

To get back on topic. Lovie lands in TB.

Lovie and Angelo, if reunited in TB, need to modernize their thinking on offense. No running off the bus stuff from Lovie, and no bizarre fixation on four foot wide outs from Angelo. Hire an OC from an established system, meaning anyone but coaches from Jacksonville, Cleveland, Minnesota, etc., and then stay the hell out of his way. Hire a consultant to advise on offense as well, including coaching hires and other strategic issues on that side of the ball.

I would avoid Cleveland and he would be a fool to take the Tampa job. That's called being desperate. It's an awful job.

As a guy who liked Lovie but just felt last year a change was needed,he deserves another shot. I'd rather have him then the next "genius" who was an OC & had a hot offense for one season on a winning team.

YeH the tampa job blows, almost guaranteed to fail for whoever takes that job...Cleveland has 2 first round picks in loaded draft. they could bounce back quick in that weak division .

Lovie would stay under the radar with a team that has a less than passionate fan base. Players will want to go there...you have the whole income tax incentive as well. Will Peanut and Urlacher join him? Lovie strikes me as a "get the band back together" guy.

Where are people getting Angelo to Tampa? The ex Bucs guy rumored to be the new president is Rich McKay, no?

Is Aaron Kromer assistant head coach? If not I would offer him the job. He did help create a really good system.
