Man, who hasn't aged gracefully into being on 720 at this point. Please just no Mancow.

Going to have someone from the Smoking Popes and Nicholas Tremulis on. I wonder what happened to the Eclectic Company.

His book on Q101 is pretty good...if you are into that kind of behind the scenes stuff.

My niece is good friends with his daughter. I guess Nick has settled into the suburban life in Palatine.

Never has anyone been seduced by his own mediocrity as much as James Van Osdol.

Longtime Q101 guy, did Local 101 and mornings after they got rid of Mancow, wrote a book about the old station.

Well, I think being the music director for a highly influential music station is a decent claim to fame. I suspect you're being willfully obtuse.

I couldn't tell you the name of a single music director outside of Norm Weiner.

I am acquainted with someone who has known Van Osdol for 30+ years and have met "JVO" himself on a few occasions. Plain and simple, he's a bad guy. And not in the sense that he's a simple-minded but fundamentally impotent loon like Kid Cairo, whose egomania forces him to use the internet as a staging ground for his perpetual, ongoing crises of identity. Rather, Van Osdol has a history of malevolent, sociopathic behavior--both wantonly illegal and aggressively hateful--that has proven destructive for many around him, including some of his closest colleagues, friends and relatives. The dude has an amazing record collection and knows a lot about pop music, but he is pretty seriously deranged.

So you're saying I shouldn't buy his book.

Not that we have established that CH is tracking a sociopath, I just want to say that Norm Weiner is a helluva nice guy and all around decent person.

Could you get him to teach his wife how to pronounce "Saturday"?

But no seriously, I like Blues Breakers! Maybe they figured they had to get rid of another old guy like when they fired Skafish.

The Seacrest Ire pokes out in seemingly random places. When the whole of it is revealed to us, I'm certain that it will be a moment of collective Aah-ing.

I try to save my real ire for Ignatius grads that paid top dollar thinking they were receiving a Cadillac education but ended up with a Ford Taurus instead.
