That's his guy.

He wants a job?

No. I meant Zaidman would defend Lovie any chance he could.

Not really a Zaidman fan in general, but what's the problem with the numbers he cited? 310 takeaways and 19 points per game are seriously good numbers.

Only Spaulding  questioned the job Lovie did defensively. I don't think he's answered the offensive questions with Tedford.

Tampa fired their GM. So Lovie will probably have some say in the hiring or have decent input in player selections. Tampa could be screwed.

Dude can't make the same mistakes. I hope he finally gets it about the offense in TB. He'll be on the hot seat after just one OC change.

Lovie is freakin' rich.

Tampa or Detroit? I know what I'd choose.

He'll get 3 years anywhere given his background. Then he'll be 57.

Worst case, prime retirement window with his $50 mildo.

Maybe Detroit did not want him. Maybe it was not a choice.

I think anyone looking at the available jobs would say Detroit is the better job.

Tampa has good talent across the board. Just not a franchise QB. Lovie is comfortable in that situation.

Didn't Lovie coordinate in Tampa before? Would think knowing the area already is a plus . Plus who the fuck wants to live in Detroit if they have a choice?

You obviously don't live in Detroit. You live in Oakland County or the Grosse Pointes and live a pleasant suburban existence not unlike what you'd get in/around Lake Forest. Tampa is warm, but by all accounts it's a special kind of hell.

A staggeringly high number of Red Wings alumni still live around southeastern Michigan, for whatever it's worth.

Yea, spent 5 days after Christmas in the area. It's very nice but the lack of going into the city sucks. Ann Arbor was the place to go for a night on the town.

This article says Tedford is OC, and Marinelli is DC. He's had past success with the DC, but not sure what the OC brings to the table in today's NFL.

He did just fine with Angelo screwing up drafts.

Seems kind of odd that he was hired before the GM; he won't be the new GM's "guy" from day one. I would think that's a concern for a new coach.

I havent heard that about Tampa

But having lived there before probably makes the choice even easier. I guess the Smiths liked it.

It's basically just miles upon miles of dumpy suburbs and old people, plus because you're beyond the sixth borough of the South Florida tri-counties, it's really Florida qua Florida in terms of trashy weirdness. Friend of mine just moved down there from Fort Wayne. He says he likes it because it reminds him of home.

Lovie isn't exactly the type of guy who is looking for the nightlife.
