Correct. But it implies a level of interest. Not suggesting all 80,000 (or whatever the number is now) would actually purchase them. But enough of them would, which implies an interest in obtaining tickets to see games live. So using that logic, it is in fact a surprise that they have unsold tickets to a playoff game.

The Packers are stupid for having an 80,000 stadium in a town with 100K people. I don't care if its a regional thing or not, there is no reason to have a stadium which, in terms of NFL cities, is in the middle of nowhere have any more than 68 or 69 thousand seats.

Take a look at the forecast for Green Bay for Sunday. Beer is going to freeze as soon as its opened I know the NFL has rules, but its totally understandable if not logical that this game does not sell out. Attendance can be 800 or 80,000 and it should still be shown on TV.

What? If they consistently sell out, they absolutely should have that many seats. You build as many seats as you can regularly sell. The size of the city is irrelevant if they are selling out every game.

Yeah, people drive to the games from all over Wisconsin (but usually around Milwaukee). There are three games on the schedule, two regular and one preseason, that are still set aside specifically for the Milwaukee-area season ticket holders from the days when those three games were played at County Stadium. They're said to be louder and more into the games than the more reserved up-north fans. Or maybe it's the other way around. I don't know, there's some difference in fan culture.

I think what North is trying to say is that kids should be going out and playing real football instead of running fantasy teams. But no, kids shouldn't play football; it's a dangerous sport that causes horrific brain damage. But since either way you're fostering interest in the game, what does that have to do with ticket sales? I shouldn't analyze Mike North tweets.

I doubt it. Baseball is played all the time in front of non-sell out crowds. The reason it is a big deal in football is because of how most stadiums are full most of the time.
