See this stuff makes no fucking sense to me. A first round pick that becomes a second round pick?

The Bulls will get that pick this year or next season at the latest.

how's that?

Kings won't have a top 10 pick

Kings are a better team. That talent will keep them out of the top 10 or the lottery completely.

Just tuned into Les for the first time in months to hear about the trade and I'm greeted by more Cutler/McCown caller arguments :puker:

Forward thinking move. Stop fighting to stay in nba purgatory. I do feel bad that deng has to play in Cleveland though.

Congrats to the Bulls reporters on allowing a New York reporter to break the biggest Bulls story of the year. That's the holiday spirit, right there.

i wonder how pissed Thibs is about this in all seriousness

how do you convince a coach like that that you have to suck ?

in any case, this is great news. are the bulls going to average more than 75 points a game now the rest of the season? its gonna get even more ugly. dunleavy is your go to guy now

There is no chance the Kings finish outside of the Top 5 in the draft. They just traded for Rudy Gay, and seem to be playing even worse.

is this official confirmation that Gay is a clubhouse cancer and a straight up loser ? the team he goes to which arguably has a decent amount of talent is playing worse while the team that traded him is red hot

Every time he leaves a team or gets injured, the team plays better. Wherever he goes seems to be awful. It can't be a coincidence anymore.

Let's lay out the Bulls picks and possible picks

2014 Draft
Their own pick
Cavs (if they finish 15-30)
Bobcats if they finish better than 20th

2015
Their own pick
Cavs 2nd rd pick (if not taken in 2014)
Bobcats better than 20th (if not claimed already)

2016
Their own
Bobcats pick (if not claimed already)

What am I missing?

The Sacramento one is the Cavs one. Not sure about Portland

How do you get excited about non lottery picks when those guys usually end up to be nothing?

The NBA is a fucked up league with half the teams overtly looking to lose each season.

For 2014, the Bulls do not get the Cleveland pick. They can switch picks with Cleveland in 2015 if Cleveland isn't in the lottery.

The Bulls get Sacramento's pick, top 10 protected through 2017 (it then becomes a 2nd round pick) and 2 2nd round picks from Portland that Cleveland owns.

It looks as if Chicago will get 2 1st round picks in this draft - their own and Charlotte's which is looking like a playoff team in a bad Eastern Conference. For the remainder of this season, Bulls need teams like Cleveland, NY, Brooklyn to move ahead of the Bulls - their own pick will likely be more valuable than the Bobcats.

They will have flexibility now, but we've heard this story before, and it usually ends with the Bulls not getting the prime free agents. I haven't seen a list for this upcoming off-season - are there free agents that they'd even want to sign?

If all goes well the Bulls may have 3 lottery picks in possibly the best draft since 2003.

It depends if players opt out.

There are several with early termination options:
Carmelo Anthony (Knicks), $23.33MM
Andrea Bargnani (Knicks), $11.5MM
Chris Bosh (Heat), $20.59MM
LeBron James (Heat), $20.59MM
Amar’e Stoudemire (Knicks), $23.41MM
Dwyane Wade (Heat), $20.16MM

I wouldn't touch Amare. Obviously LBJ, Wade and Bosh will stay together. Melo doesn't excite me but would I consider him as Robin to Rose as Batman - I might. Bargnani is a guy.
