Why would you trade Deng? He's got an expiring contract. That's what you want. No team in contention would give you a good player for him. If he's good, why would that team trade him? And you don't want to take on a bad player that matches Deng's salary.

Deng's value is his money comes off the books at the end of the year. So he won't be traded.

You trade him for FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS, of course nobody trading a meaningful player today.

Its early, but you do have charolettes first round pick this year if they are not in the top 8? or 10? I forgot

You could get yourself a top 10 back by trading the talent...and Boozer!!!!

You have the Mirotic deal to pull the trigger on. Still have James Bucket and then you can get rid of The Teague experiment and hope he doesnt turn out to be really good elsewhere

With all that younger cheap talent you can take on the extra 1 year or even 2 of a terrible contract, plus if you pull off the go young route, you need to get to the NBA floor on salary, which is why you would take on some bad deals. Stoudamire?

Boozer is off the books in the offseason. A lottery team isn't going to trade their 1st round pick for Boozer. Don't forget in order to trade Boozer you would have to take back some bad salaries that would NOT come off the books this summer like Boozer's and Deng's deals will. As it stands the Bulls will be about $30M under the cap.

When you have $30M to spend you will find players that want you to spend it on them.

Yeah, but don't you have to match salary in NBA trades? You can't trade Deng alone for draft picks. At least I don't think you can. I think draft picks are given a money value but no way a late 1st would be equal to Deng's money.

I guess you can take a bum, making big money, who's also on an expiring contract along with a 1st round pick. That would be the way to go. So you're right if they can do that.

You need to come close to matching, I think within 20% is the number, and you better get it done this year as Irwin the Great is retiring after this year!

Deng and Boozer for IBaka and Perkins and OKC's 1st round pick, or the extra they have from Dallas. Yeah I know too big of a deal, but one for one could happen in that grouping. OKC wants to go for it, Deng could help.

Oh and when D rose comes back as JASON KIDD as I said , he will help as well

boozer deng taj and thibs to miami for lebron wade birdman and coach SPO.

the real steal of the deal is COACH SPO cuz his wisdom is off the charts.

lebron can win you a title then go to cleveland and never win again.

Right now I want to see the Bulls play with Teague/Hinrich at Point for about 5-7 games and see what that looks like.

It will look like a guy who cant play back to back games and a kid who doesnt fit into the coaches system.

Trade Noah while we are at it, he cant stay healthy for more than 20 games in a row either. I think he is great and would love to keep him, but unless I have an organization that plans accordingly, in other words, not playing him much for the season, his Plantars will become more and more of an issue every year.

No, no, no. Trade Rose for Wade, then trade Wade & Boozer for Kobe. Then you trade Kobe for Durant. #Championship

They traded for a player that will be immediately waived, which is the same as letting Deng walk at the end of the season. This wasn't really a trade, but a convenient way to dump a guy now who they had no intention of re-signing for next season.

Thats funny, because it looks like a Trade when you get draft picks back? Yes, they are 2nd rounders, but nothing wrong with 2nd round picks you can turn into 6'10" foreign players or another big man from the Bench like Omer, Marc Gasol.....big guys take longer to develop.

The Bulls acquired the right to the Sacramento Kings’ first-round pick, which is top-12 protected in 2014, top-10 protected from 2015-17 and then becomes a second-round pick if not used by then, and two second-round picks the Cavaliers had acquired from the Trail Blazers in 2015 and 2016.

Also, the Bulls have the right to swap their own 2015 first-round pick with the Cavaliers only in the case the Cleveland pick is between 15 and 30.
