I nominate Joe Jackson. Better average and he only had 8 /2 seasons to Franks 18

Jackson obviously didn't have the kind of power Frank did. But the game was different in his time. Anyway, Jackson is forever considered a White Sox because of the World Series fix. If that hadn't happened, he might be viewed as an Indian or whatever they were called in his time. Naps, maybe? As it is he's just another White Sox outfielder who only had a relatively short run with the team.

Also, with regard to the grumbling about Frank getting more coverage from "WSOX" than Maddux. Frank is a White Sox. As much as Cub fans might want to claim Maddux, he's a Brave. It stands to reason that Frank, as the local guy, would get more airtime than the two Atlanta guys who also got in.

What did he have a couple more seasons in ATL than he had with the Cubs? But why cannot he be both a Brave and a Cub? Just like Fisk should be seen as both a Red Sox and White Sox? Why does it have to be one or the other?

Come on, his best years were in Atlanta. No one but a Cub fan would ever consider him a Cub.

As far as Fisk is concerned, he played more games in a White Sox uniform, but he still isn't a White Sox. When Fisk is remembered by most fans of baseball, it will be in a Red Sox uniform waving at that ball.

You know what team to associate with a player. You're not suggesting Jordan was a Wizard and a Bull, are you?

Of course not, just like I wouldn't consider Thomas an A. But when you basically split your career in 2 different locations like Maddux and Fisk, why does it have to be one or the other?

I wouldn't exactly call that "evenly split". Maddux won 133 games as a Cub. He also lost 122 as a Cub. He was 186-65 as a Brave. I think he's a Brave.

Do you really care that Maddux will be wearing a Braves hat? Don't worry. Almora and Bryant will probably wear Cubs hats when they go in.

I do not care what hat he wears. I just do not understand why when he spent a large chunk of his career as a Cub why he cannot be referred to as a Cub? Not a big deal, just something I have never really understood about baseball.

But his Cub years are on the plaque, he's also referred to as a Cubbie(unlike most of Cy Young awards and his WS ring), just as he's referred to as primarily as an Atlanta Brave, with his best years there. What's to understand?

Honestly, I prefer he'd wear a fedora, jauntily tilted to the side.

JORR thinks 133 WINS are meaningless!

There is no doubt he goes in as a Braves player, but it is a little different than Fisk.

Being that he started in Chicago, he was a CY winner in Chicago, he wanted to stay, fans wanted him to stay, etc. he even came back and still works with the cubs organization now.

So, while he spent 11 years in ATL and 9 in Chi, there is more of a connection to the Cubs

also, Fisk has one of the all time memorable plays in baseball history, and not as a White Sox player. That one HR connects him so much more to the BoSox.

Super Secret White Sox Businessman Kenny Williams,

when asked if he was headed to Japan while on his overseas trip on Tuesday, he wouldn't answer the question. Someone should send Kenny the MLB.COM Title Story today.

Tanaka arrives in USA to meet with interested clubs

Don't worry. He'll just drive up the price on Tanaka for the Cubs like he did with Fukudome.

If the Sox do sign Tanaka, the Cubs might as well just close up shop. Cub fans will be committing harakiri on the streets of Lakeview.

He actually offered more than the cubs paid. Not exactly driving the price up.

This is just silly now. Frank Thomas is the greatest White Sox player off all time. Maddux probably isn't in the top ten Cubs players of all time unless you count his time in Atlanta.

I'm sure you are a better businessman than me but I think you need to rethink that statement.

Havent touched on it yet, but my Sox people love telling me how Hahn Rebuilt on the fly. because its better to just suck even when you try to be good, versus intentionally sucking. More honor?

Not sure if Sox fans realize the Cubs had a better record last year?

They need to play some games to show any portion of the "Partial Rebuild" works. Remember it is NOT a FULL REBUILD.....

We don't care about that. We lost the BP Cup. That is what ruined the season for me.

So bigfan-- Mr Baseball, Mr Southside-- you think the Sox need to play some games to show their rebuild work, what does that say about the Cubs current rebuild which is coming off its third consecutive 90 loss season?

Yes, the Cubs had a better record in 2013. They won a whopping 3 more games than the White Sox. Time to celebrate!

The first thing the Cubs have been able to put in their trophy case in decades.
