It's still going to be hilariously bad in 2 months. It was not creative at all. It looks like they went to a local costume store and bought a bear costume and put a jersey on it. It has a striking resemblance to those weird furry people. It's already a national joke and sites like deadspin will probably continue to make fun of it. The Cubs made a public opinion of disapproval about how it is being treated.

If anything, it needs a redesign that takes more than 15 minutes.

Kirkwood, Its pathetic that a team actually issues a press release that basically says "stop making fun of us." Losing less than 90 games would be a start to that. All professional teams do things for charity like that. Do they make a big deal about it and introduce a new mascot for it? No, because that is pathetic.


Who ya crappin? Aren't you the guy who quotes Theo in saying there is no glory in winning 82 games or 62 games? When your team wins a world series this century, then you can puff up your chest.

I don't think they care if you make fun of the team. But a mascot for kids? Really putting effort there. Grown adult are really flexing their intellectual muscles here.

I figure someone saw Boston's mascot and said, "Hey! We should have a green monster too!" They were clearly ignorant of the significance a "green monster" had in Boston.

Id be with you on that. That is not what you did. You chose to bring up win loss records. I just pointed out that as bad as they were, the White Sox were worse.

I just want everybody take notice as to how many Cubs fans know the Sox record from last year. Just further proof that the "Cubs fans don't care about the Sox" is a flat out myth.



Your rebuild so far is a joke. The amenities at your ballpark are a joke. Now you have a mascot that is equally as big a joke. And your PR department is butthurt by that.
