Seeing as that's clearly not the case, though, that will not happen ... which is fine, the more exchanges go back and forth, the greater the chances that something intresting might be said, so that's nice.
I care greatly about this topic.

Clearly.

The mascot should be an old man farting then.

This question blew my mind.

Other interesting questions.
Why does it matter if movies are interesting?
Why does it matter if vacations are fun?
Why does it matter if food is tasty?

So, no answer, then.

If you asked me what Detroit Lions mascot was, I'd guess it was a lion. I don't even know if they have one. But, I'd still go with "it's a lion" or "a guy dressed in a lion costume". I would not consider it creative and I would not care.

So, why does it matter if it's creative?
It's one of those questions where "Because it should be" is a valid answer. Do we really need to start discussing the merits of effective imagery?

Go ahead. Because I can count on zero fingers the number of mascots that I've looked at and thought "wow, that's really interesting".

Is Chuck E. Cheese really creative and interesting? Because kids like it and that seems pretty effective if not creative.

Oh, so you are the Illinois fan that didn't watch the Chief at football games and think it was a cool tradition.

There really is no argument against "All mascots suck" though. It's an opinion that makes all discussion meaningless with those who feel that way. It would be like discussing the best kind of steak with a vegetarian.

Well, the Chief was a symbol, not a mascot. I have to say that for legal reasons.

I didn't say they "suck". Did I say that? I guess I'll go back and reread this thread to find that.

I thought I said they typically weren't all that creative or interesting.

But, luckily for the Cubs, neither of us are in the demo that the Cubs care about. The kids seem to like it so it looks to be about as effective as any other mascot.

I hope he gets a lady friend like Mr. Met. Can't wait to see her in the Butts Solid thread.

Either way. Can't argue against that.

If the Cubs mascot was the world's largest bass drum this thread would only be 3 pages.

That one clearly has genitals, mutilated as they may be

Also, even in the early days they were poppin collars Wayne Stylie style as evidenced by the player to the right of Nuts on Clark
