Which one of the 4 games that Crabtree played this year did he look the most impressive?

In his postgame news conference, Sherman had more to say about Crabtree.

"He wouldn't make the top 20 of NFL receivers," Sherman said. "If any team had a chance to pick Crabtree, they wouldn't draft him."

After the interception, Sherman ran over to Crabtree and patted him on the rear and said something. Crabtree pushed Sherman in the facemask.

"I was making sure everyone knew Crabtree was a mediocre receiver," Sherman said. "And when you try the best corner in the game with a mediocre receiver, that's what happens. I appreciate that he knows that now. There has been a lot of talk from him running his mouth about me."

I'm just surprised Crabtree found time during the game to trash talk. Usually he's too busy whining between snaps to the refs.

Anybody gonna disagree with this?

Not as crazy when you think about it but he's 15-20 range.

He's not an elite receiver. Sherman is arguably the best DB in the NFL.

From ESPN by yards this regular season. Sub in Julio, Roddy and Wayne for some of those name bc of injury and I say Crabtree falls in 15-20ish. Is Blackmon in convo? If he had a QB and self control he'd be in there too.

Just a list of 20 most yards receiving in 2013 to get a rough estimate of top 20. Doesn't include guys like Harvin or Maclin either too. I'm sold. Crabtree is a borderline top 20.

Before anyone feels bad for Crabtree, keep in mind he's a millionaire who is probably going to be spending the next few weeks on the beach and then he returns to live in San Francisco(or wherever he chooses to live in the summer) and his job consists of exercising until August.

You mentioned Blackmon, White, Wayne, and Jones to add to the list, but there's also Cobb and Harvin that you'd want there before Crabtree. Perhaps even Mike Wallace and Keenan Allen as well.

So adding other players who were injured or saddled with bum QBs:
2013 Most Receving Yards wrote:

5 A.J. Green, WR CIN

15 Jimmy Graham, TE
16 Anquan Boldin, WR
17 Torrey Smith, WR
18 T.Y. Hilton, WR IND
19 Kendall Wright, WR
20 Harry Douglas, WR

Better than Crabtree not on above list: Blackmon, Jones, Harvin, Fitzgerald, Wayne, Steve Smith and possibly ahead of Crabtree with Wallace, Allen, Maclin, Cobb, Cruz.

So Sherman and spanky are right. Not even top-25.

Are we including TE as receivers (graham)?

PFT wrote an article how Graham would likely fight to be franchised as a WR instead of a TE b/c he was lined up a receiver more than tight end this year.

I'm not disagreeing. It just opens the door to a few more players including Vernon Davis

Great game last night. The refs were awful, but that has become to be expected sadly. The wrong call on the running into the kicker was a huge call that non of the post games talked about. Even if the 49ers don't move the ball, it still would have changed field position. The penalty before half time was another awful call. May have cost the 49ers a shot at 3 pts. Then of course the Bowman play, which is probably one of the worst calls in football history. It couldn't have been more easy to see who had the ball. The league should be embarassed, especially since these are supposed to be the best refs in the playoffs.

I was surprised Kap went at Sherman. Personally, I rather have Boldin going for the jump ball than Crabtree. I would have also liked to see Davis get a look going down the middle of the field. With 2 timeouts to be used, they really didn't need to force it into the endzone. I said all week that the 49ers would win, if Kap limited the turnovers, well 3 in the 4th quarter isn't going to cut it.

Yeah don't know why he forced it into the end zone just then. If you're going to do it make sure it's either your guy catching it or out of bounds. Anything but an under throw. Still could've run a qb or rb draw play, worked the middle with Davis another 10 yards, everything was still in play. Don't think it's a case of Seattle winning it but more Kaep losing it.

I thought the terrible clock management by Harbaugh and the offense on the last drive played a large part in why Kaepernick was already forcing it to the endzone from that position. There was no reason for San Francisco to have that little time left.

I get that they didn't want to leave any time left if they scored but yeah, it was bad management. They were way too deliberate. Whether or not Kaepernick panicked because of the clock and forced that throw ( though a perfect throw would've been a td imo) or just made a bad decision despite the clock running down I don't know.

I really thought (based on hype) that 49ers and Kap were going to pull that out. I was wrong. I have wondered the whole second half of the year about this guy and have said so. Running yes, exciting yes, fun yes. Throw not so much. He is no where near a top qb and people should stop that talk.
