I don't know how many of you caught transition today but Hood was really pissed at Harry and called him out for Harry's comments about Hoody and Carmen fighting with each other on the air and Hoody took offense and made it clear that Harry has no business saying that on the air. Hoody told Harry "If the show is bad or good say that but "DO NOT" claim were fighting on the air".

It was pull the covers over your head radio and it was uncomfortable but I loved it and it carried over to Hoody and Carmens show when Hoody claimed Harry was out of line once again. I thought Hoody was a bit over the top with his anger but I love the edgyness.

I mentioned in other posts that these two seem to not be the best of friends and Hoody made that clear today.

I didn't hear it but I bet I know why Hood was so pissed. I think Hood feels like he has this tag of being a difficult person to work with. Justified or not he has that tag. He got that tag with the Telender thing. I think it was justified with Telander. I haven't heard much of him and Carmen to comment.

So he takes it very personally when Harry said that. He has a new station and he doesn't want that stigma to grow at his new place of work.

Harry started sh*t with Mac today also about Bobby Howry. My guess is Harry is a liar and obviously a sh*t stirrer. Get rid of the a hole and be done with it.

Harry = Murphy- two lousy human beings that no one personally likes.

I heard it but didn't really understand it. Did Carmen & Hood get in a fight or was Harry continuing his streak of being an unentertaining boob? I think Carmen & Hood to work pretty well together. Of all the Hood pairings I like this one the best and think Carmen is a good host.

Friends...
Why do we revel in the anger and resentment displayed by these two otherwise fine and upstanding young men? Is it the sick, twisted nature of man to wish evil and misfortune upon man, and to use it as entertainment (as so beautifully articulated by Don Henley on Dirty Laundry, a favorite of Sir Mac if I am not mistaken)? There is a disturbed young man (I use that term loosely, as I am not sure that he IS a man, at least not yet) on this very thread who continues to wish unemployment and misfortune against a certain "comedian with limited success?." Is this not one of the most primitive of emotions on display? Envy? Fear?
My fellow respected board members, when will be realize that for this very species to survive we need to unite and overcome our true adversaries, fear and hate? When shall we decide to evolve into a more advanced race of people who no longer look at each other as whites or blacks, jews or muslums, or haves and have-nots? Will it happen before it is too late? One can only pray.

I'm really liking this thread. Let's see . . .

I have read FFA and it's one of my fav's. Don't get the connection.

I think Jack is a dumbass troll, but I love the avatar. Don't know the actor's name but loved him in "Witness to the Mob".

Finally, regarding the hijacked thread, Harry and JHood have no business getting in fights on the air. I like/dislike them both for differing reasons, but from a career perspective alone, they should play nice-nice when they are together. . . unless they are trying to pull a KS.

That's the famous Abe Vigoda - Sgt. Fish from Barney Miller or Sal Tessio in the Godfather

I would argue that the only enemy is want. Every emotion (including fear and hate) flow from this one source. Eliminate want and you eliminate evil.

On the other hand eliminate want and you probably also elimante all the euphoric emotions associated with acquiring the object of your want. You will also eliminate all of the good byproducts produced by those excessively driven by want.

So the ultimate question is not "good dolphin, how do I eliminate want". The ultimate question is do I really want to eliminate it.

I thought Harry pulled off some great one liners yesterday. In response to Hood's statement Harry apologized and then said "the show was bad". It got a little lost in all the attention.

Mr. Dolphin, an my other fine message board friends,
It appears that you may follow the teachings of Buddhism. Buddhism uses the Four Noble Truths to teach us that suffering (or as you had said, evil) is caused by craving (or as you had put it, want). In fact, the Noble Eightfold Path teaches us how to eliminate said want.
I would disagree with this philosophy in that it disregards the fact that the anticipation of aquiring your wants is generally the cause for much excitement and enjoyment. One also feels a great deal of accomplishment by succeeding in meeting goals and acquiring the wants that drive us to improve our lots in life. Hindi teaches us that mortal intellectual and physical advancement is the true path to Nirvana.
My friend, I would challenge you argument that the only evil is want and ask you to consider that our main enemy is apathy. Consider that apathy would cause humankind to continue in ignorance of the wonderful thing that is the diversity of our spectacular race. Diversity should unite us, rather than divide us. Apathy causes our friends to ignore the plight of our fellow man, like the woman who was sexually assaulted on the street the other day as her fellow man literally watched. Apathy causes us to worry more about our pocketbooks than the betterment of our society as a whole. Apathy, friends, is the true enemy.

I'm not a budhist scholar but my feeling certainly is in line with budhism.

I think I addressed your points in my second paragraph.

Apathy...very interesting...in christian terms the sin of omission can be as damaging as the sin of comission. I can agree with that but I don't think it is the true enemy, but only one of its cohorts.

What do other sources feel is the Enemy. I am trying to remember what is considered to be the principal sin of the 7 Deadly Sins. Can you help me (as a side note I bought a children's version of the canterbury tales. children's publishers are producing some incredible products these days).

Did I miss something? Is this jackass actually making sense?

By the way, I get the Flowers reference. That's actually quite well played.

Like I said I didn't hear it but it sounds quite ironic. It sounds like in Hood's defending himself that he is not difficult to work with he displayed with Harry that he's difficult to work with.

Now he probably is off the list to sub with MJH when Harry is there. He just took some on air chances away from himself.

Hood should have took this off the air. Hood's a guy that likes to bust balls on the air. I know why he took offense to Harry but I heard it when Harry said it to Hood initially. It was when Carm and Hood were sitting in with Harry.

Hood didn't take much offense at the time and they all let it go. Now it's become a bigger issue because Hood went after Harry on the air a couple weeks after it happened.

I didn't mind the uncomfortable radio.

What's getting lost is the underlying issue, Carmen took off a day of work so that he could go to a fantasy draft.

I was commenting on the vast difference in Evil Jack's posts from two days ago to yesterday. He could be headed for a tragic downfall.

Mr Dear Friend Mr. Dolphin,
What do other sources feel is the enemy? Well, my fine internet message board friend, that is quite an interesting question. In older civilizations, the populace was more or less inclined to consider their very own gods the enemy. Bad things to happen to people, or to cities, was largely the result of an angry or unappeased diety. Our ancestors struggled mightily to offer sacrifies to their respective god of the volcano, only to have it erupt anyway. The angry seas were the fault of Mighty Neptune, and the bolts of lightning from an incensed Zeus caused fires that devoured whole cities.
There were many civilizations that felt that physical, natural dischord was the root of Evil. It was when they did not honor the Laws of nature that their crops did not germinate.
However, the Christian principal of the seven deadly sins is an interesting one. They are: Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride. Interesting list of deadly sins. Why? These sins, when looked at individually, could be considered 7 synonmyns for Human Instinct. Lust, the basic instinct to reproduce and spread our seed (intrestingly, one of the very first things that God tells man to do, right from the get go in the Garden Of Eden, long before man created these deadly sins). Gluttony, as human beings in "the wild" may have no idea where their next meal comes from, and need to eat as much as possible and store as much fat becuase you might not know when the next meal is coming. Greed, again the need to accumulate as much as possible in order to survive should times become harsh and unaccomidating. Sloth, or as we have discussed earlier apathy. Wrath, or anger, the desire to eliminate your rivals, becoming the alpha male. Envy and Pride, which are basically one in the same, two sides of the same coin. Which is the worst you has questioned earlier.
My friend, none of them are worse. They are just simple one word definations of what we are.

Had you found my discussion on the Deadly Sins to be helpful to you? Surely more helpful than that awful Chaucer?

I found it rather shallow as there is one sin that is considered to be the basis of all others. Now you are going to actually make me read the book to find out which tale will answer the question.
