sounds like a lady I know. She is all about healthy food. She wanted to bring our 9-10 yr old softball team spinach smoothies as a snack. But yet she smokes. Makes no sense at all.

Stepfather quit after 35 years of smoking. for months the guy walked around like he was a tar machine. His body was trying to get rid of the black gunk (Playing at House of Blues next weekend) all day. when outside he would spit and it would be dark brown goobers. Aint no doc, but that aint good.

I mean i get it...but unless someone makes 100% healthy choices with their lives they should be mocked ? just saying because she does x number of healthy things, diet, etc. but smokes...its better than smoking AND eating crap, no ? at least she's doing something

i drink Diet as opposed to regular pop now, when i do...so yeah i might order a Baconator combo with a diet coke, doesn't mean anything about it is hypocritical, i just prefer the taste of diet

I think the point is that you can't preach a healthy lifestyle to everyone else and then turn around and smoke cigarettes. Keep your mouth shut and you can do whatever you want.

The point is the people who smoke cigarettes in public in 2014 would be less odious if they
tied off and banged H while sucking off a German shepherd and strangling a fetus.

That drives me nuts.



Diet coke is worse than coke.

Keep a water handy when you drink regular Coke. I take a drink of water after each drink of my Coke. Doesn't allow the sugar to sit and rot your teeth. This is per my dentist's recommendation. No cavities in my 31 years on earth.

I have asked before and never gotten a response that explains how it is worse. The closest it gets is "Both are equally bad for you" but that is still quite controversial.

When I worked in the mall in 2005-2006, I once had a lady in line that was letting her kid order a kids meal. He couldn't have been more than 3. I asked him what kind of pizza he wanted, that we had cheese or sausage. The mother chimed in that "he is a vegetarian." Pretty independent little toddler!

Diet sodas are worse (or at least just as bad) for numerous reason. But even if the reasons diet sodas are bad for you (artificial sweeteners made in a new jersey lab doing allah knows what to your mind/body/soul; they still cause an insulin response) balance out to being equal to the reason the Real Thing (tm) is bad for you (HFCS or cane sugar), Diet coke is worse because folks drink it thinking it is somehow less pernicious than the Real Thing. So they treat diet sodas with less caution than it deserves.

I once rode in a pace car with Les Caution.

Exactly. It's possible there is no benefit to diet soda over regular soda. However, to say they are worse isn't supportable.

It's simple logic. Calorie counts clearly matter. Diet soda doesn't have calories. That's probably better. It's certainly not worse than the empty calories contained in regular soda unless there is some undiscovered link to cancer from one of the most used sweeteners in the world(just like weed!).

I have a friend whose kid has been a vegetarian since he was about two. She gave him chicken and he asked what it was. She told him and he said, "Like the chickens we have in the yard?" She said yeah and he said, "I don't eat chickens. I don't eat animals. I love them." She said, "That's fine but you'll have to eat a lot of vegetables." And he replied, "But I don't like vegetables!" She asked him what he thought he was going to eat and he paused a moment and said, "Candy!"
The kid is 13 now and still a vegetarian.
