Agree with him and consistently re state his positions with an occasional big word and you're in

Army of Bernstein callers that call him just to repeat to him the very things he just said. He's got about 10 of them. TFM used to be one and got a job at the Score because of it.

I think he does think they're sad, pathetic, mouth-breathing idiots, but they're useful to him for the purpose of his show. I think he also gets a kick out of contradicting himself and seeing people like TFM and the rest of his ASL twist themselves into pretzels as they still try to agree with him.

Hell, he's made Leery flip-flop from sentence to sentence on numerous occasions.

Not even an exaggeration. Larry once said "I hate Pittsburgh". Dan said "I love Pittsburgh." Then Larry said "Me too."

Didn't go down exactly like that. But pretty close. I was cracking up laughing after this exchange.

Bernstein: What's on tap for the show?

Holmes: Were gonna talk about the problems with the Bears offense

Bernstein: Offense? It's the defense

Holmes: oh it's absolutely the defense

Baffoe.

I'm still undecided on Sherman until I can see his reaction from the mouth shot he's going to get sooner or later.

Finally saw it. I now have no use for Sherman.

How is this thread not 100 pages? I think it shows most people dont really care about TFM or what he writes. If you paid attention, everything he wrote would be in here.

Longtime WYC guy who won the blog-only edition of the Score Search and turned into the worst Dan Bernstein parrot of all. Teaches English at some Catholic school in or around Beverly, has gone on the record saying that considers Fahrenheit 451 to be part of the canon of Western literature. Joined CSFMB to trawl for votes in the aforementioned Score Search, got them, won, and then called us a bunch of losers for helping him win, which until the Kid Cairo thing was the biggest dick move on the board.

As for why a so-called smart person goes by "Ten Foot Midget," well, he's probably not really that smart. Real smart people don't specify how tall of a midget they are. 8)

bigfan asked if anyone could consume 80 McNuggets (McNuggets 80) within an hour, and arranged to have the contest after a B&B remote. Then Keeping Score said he would stage a contest himself. Then bigfan got really offended at being one-upped like that. Then, as a result of the McNuggets confusion and increased criticism of Boers & Bernstein, Keeping Score, Kid Cairo, and Terry's Peeps started their own version of this board where people could be complimentary of Dan Bernstein's gross neoliberalism and organize their own McNugget-eating events. Kid Cairo invited people to the new board piecemeal at his/KS's discretion with the proviso that they not talk about it to other people who wouldn't be chosen to participate at the new board. Of course, everyone talked about it to other people who wouldn't be chosen to participate at the new board. And now all three of them aren't welcome here anymore and Keeping Score got his entire account nuked for years of being really fucking weird.

And I thought this place was sad and lonely - just used the Google machine and, wow. Awesome super secret forum where they leave public posts about texting/not texting certain people and pinky swearing that they won't tell anyone else. LOL

Always unfortunate when a forum has a split - neither is better off for it, that's for sure. This place becomes weaker without some of those that left, and the new Jay Mohr-fake-positivity-no-negativity crap is nothing more than a pandering platitude. It's the Internet - as long as anonymity reigns supreme, crap will get negative....it's just a matter of whether you can stomach it.

Back on topic: TFM was an asslicking caller, and has only stepped up his game as an "employee".

They don't even post about B&B over there. Also, shouldn't TFM be subject to a napalming by dint of his unabashed support of child rape via employment at a catholic school?

John Mckenna So you don't want see the best hockey in the world because you're afraid Chris Kunitz might get hurt or the threat of a terrorist attack?

John Mckenna Wrong. The NHL has the best players in the world spread out over 30 teams. Taking the best of the best is the what the Olympics accomplishes. If you think watching a guy like Toews go up against goons like Cal Clutterbuck or old fogies like Todd Bertuzzi is better than watching this tourney than I can't help you but direct you to the meatball factory

He's right, but inasmuch as he is a Score personality who isn't Dan McNeil or one of his producers, I have a feeling he has nothing but WSCR-approved contempt for hockey, whether NHL or international.

He's right in that we don't need Toews getting blown up by a suicide bomber. That would be way more tragic than Brian's Song.

First of all, he's right that we shouldn't be sending our players to a place where people want to blow themselves up. Second, Olympic hockey is basically just all-star games with no respect to building a team for the year nor an organization for the long run, which makes the whole thing kind of arbitrary and silly for those of us who invest time and energy into following the NHL. Also, on the larger ice (15 feet wider than North America), everything just gets bogged down in the neutral zone anyway. "International ice gives you more room to work with" is the Big Lie of hockey.

All that being said, of course, Ten Foot Midget and his radio dad will soon both go out of their way to say "you know what I love the most about hockey in the Olympics? There's no fighting!" Of course, there's not really any fighting in Blackhawks games, either, unless their eight fights in 55 games really bother you. Or maybe Ten Foot Midget is a big Flyers fan and has been put off by their 37 fights in 54 games, I dunno.

Yeah, that part is fine. I was referring to the Olympic vs NHL thing but apparently that's wrong.

The only reason Olympic hockey is such a big deal now in North American consciousness is that English Canada hasn't won a Stanley Cup since 1990 and so Canadians have quite loudly come to treat this as being more important than the NHL. If the Flames, Oilers, Senators, or Canucks had won the Stanley Cup in their respective cracks at it over the last ten years, do you think it would have been less important than the Olympics? Boy, do I doubt that.
