Just saw a piece on him on "Real Sports". I always knew his son had Cystic Fibrosis. I just never knew what a daily struggle it is to treat it. And how much parents have to do when their kids are young.

The feature also detailed all of the things Esiason has done to raise awareness and money. Quite something. Plus Boomer actually seems like a genuine decent guy outside of his this cause.

it's very rare that anyone makes it out of their 30's. it eats your respiratory system alive. and it's rarely recognized as a deadly disease.

the stuff boomer did and continues to do for the kids who lost parents at 9/11 is really cool.

The guy busts his ass daily to give back as much as he can.

Is it ok to ask him to keep the CBS sports minutes thoughts though?

If Boomer stopped doing them, John Feinstein might do more.

Story from MMQB today about Boomer stopping to help a motorist on the way home from a game where the Jets blew an 18 pt 3rd quarter lead...

“I’m in traffic at the Lincoln Tunnel [the route from East Rutherford to Long Island, via Manhattan] and next to me there was an accident, and I’m thinking, Should I get out of the car and help? So I do, and the woman in this car is slumped over the wheel, with a cigarette in her hand. I rap on the window. ‘Lady! You okay!’ She opens her eyes. She says, ‘Boomer? BOOMER? Man, you guys suck! How’d you lose that game!’ ”
