Most of those cities don't have domes either. The only reason I can come up with for favoring Nashville's small-ish arena over Chicago would be issues regarding hotel taxes.

So a Dome doesnt help get this event? Maybe even makes you not only a favorite, but part of a regular rotation of once every 10 years for this event....and maybe a few of those others shitty events that when the people from everywhere else look at their hotel bill and have a coronary at the extra taxes here for staying in a hotel.

if you are going to not travel to a city because of a higher "hotel tax", then you probably shouldn't be travelling at all.

Agree, but when Associations are offered pitches for their members to attend events, those cities who dont charge 17% more for hotel taxes make sure they point that out and it is an issue in this cities expo business going down.
