Debating the issues is fine. When a person goes against the grain i.e. popular consensus they become the target not what it is they are arguing. Its cheap and its lame. For instance when discussing the "n" word i mentioned that I am an African American. That was questioned by two different people. I believe it was questioned because I didn't tow the company line and because I didn't make apologies for the use the word by African American people. I use the word and in my neighborhood (predominantly African American) that word has always been used. That was my essential point. The point didn't get addressed because there was far too much concern as too my race. Before that I was supposed to be Jason Goff. That was used to dismiss perfectly valid arguments. Its cool and to be honest I am not that sensitive. I can take it but don't think you won't be called on it when I see it happening. Not really sensitive as I am attentive and when the other poster posted a similar point I agreed with him that's all.

My bad on the Goff thing I misunderstood that part of the culture. If its a universal thing cool. As far as the "N" that word is thrown around in black communities. Its not just a socioeconomic thing either. Black intelligentsia also has used that word. John Fountain who writes for the Sun Times has admitted that he uses that word. There have been others as well. It does not make it write but in ghetto areas that word has been used for years. We have tended to ignore that because our antennaes are always up when it is time to yell racism. I can speak to that because i am an African American I attended a historically black high school (Phillips) and college (Grambling State Univ). I can recall a white person referring to me as a "N" once and that was while I was in college. The town of Ruston where La. Tech resides is right outside of Grambling. We were at a stop light weren't paying attention to the people in the car next to us. As they pulled off they yelled "f'ing" "N"s. African Americans use that word quite liberally yet our so called leaders refuse to call people on it. I have become desensitized to the use of the word. I understand the historical significance of the word. It does bother me that racism still exists. It is important to point out the double standard that we as African Americans have when it comes to our own people. And that was the point that I was attempting to illustrate.

He hasn't won a championship. A lot of players haven't including Kevin Durant. According to the imminently quotable Bernstein as long as you have Lebron James you win a championship. That stupid theory is going to get tested this year. Dwayne Wade is not a top five player this year. Probably is not a top 30 player. I want to see how far the Heat can go with just Lebron James. Carmelo Anthony has never played with a top five player during his career. He has not played with a top 10 player during his career. I know some will throw Iverson out there he was on the decline when he got to Denver. Its an easy narrative to say a person isn't a winner when they haven't won but which players on this team can you win with? Which NBA player is going to win a championship when your second best player is J.R. Smith?
