We'll learn a lot about Carmelo and how much he thinks his teammates are a problem in free agency.

If the excuses for Carmelo are true, he has to leave the Knicks.

He has to leave If he gets with a top 10 guy and doesn't make any noise then i will leave it alone. He has never played on a championship worthy team. Denver with Billups that first year was his best team the Lakers were still a better team on paper. They won and they were favored to win. Carmelo Anthony has never been on an NBA team that was favored to win an NBA championship. There are lot of NBA players that haven't won championships it just seems that he gets labeled as the selfish loser guy. Chris Paul has never won but he is considered the ultimate competitor. Durant hasn't won anything either. Kobe Bryant only wins on teams that are predicted to win. Lebron James has won on teams that were supposed to win. I hope Anthony does come to the Bulls and is allowed to play with Rose (healthy). If he can't get it done with that outfit then I will agree but as long as his second best player he can't be expected to win anything

He chose the Knicks, and likely will choose the Knicks again.

Hard to complain about your supporting cast when you get to choose it.

I totally agree with you on that and if takes the money and runs after this season then it will say a lot about his winning aspirations. He believed that he would be playing with a healthy Stoudamire and the wink wink deal with Chris Paul. That was his biggest mistake. Choosing the Knicks has tarnished his image. He is the modern day Marbury. Once Marbury orchaestrated the trade out of Minnesota it dogged him the rest of his career. He could never win the P.R. battle after that. No matter what Anthony does he will be dogged for orchaestrating his way out of Denver.

Last year Anthony's team won 54 games and he was third in MVP voting. The Dan Bernstein school of sports analysis is at work yet again. You might as well stop playing the game because you fail to win a championship. Why even play because you know Lebron James is going to win the championship. Using that logic 95% of the players selected for the All Star game are losers also.

Me too I always liked Marbury. He killed his career once he did that. The perception of him changed dramatically after that.

It was a good idea he had too, with the 15$ gym shoes. Heart was in the right place

wait, you mean the perception of him changed after he forced a trade out of Minnesota because he wanted to be the #1 guy ? shocking...

they had the building blocks for a great team and Marbury decided to ruin it with his selfishness and ego

he leaves, the next year NJ is 52-30 and goes to the Finals

Marbury played 3 seasons in Phoenix

36-46
44-38 (made playoffs, congrats)

that there was perfectly valid reason why the perception of him changed. and you're evoking the Bernstein/championship thing in response to me calling him a loser...but i'm calling him a loser because his ego wouldn't allow him to play alongside KG, he wanted to be the #1 guy, then when was afforded that role , he failed miserably

I remember him saying that he should be the highest paid player because he was the go to guy with the game on the line. I thought it was a dumb move to orchaestrate a trade. My point is that the perception of a player is shaped largely by the media and the facts be damned. That is what's at work here. Chris Paul orchaestrated a trade out of New Orleans and you never here about it. He did exactly the same thing that Anthony and Marbury did but he is not criticized for it. I am a huge Paul fan by the way. A lot of players have orchaestrated trades but the media which a lot of fans take their cues from pick and choose whom they wish to label.

Not a fair comparison; George was drafted #1.
