Former Bear QB who was the only voter not to make Peyton Manning #1 on his MVP ballot for 2013.

"It pains me because Peyton had such a historic season," Miller told the Post. "He is the offensive player of the year, no question. But having played the position, when I looked at who had the most value to his team, I thought Tom Brady carried that team the same way Adrian Peterson carried Minnesota last year."

Didn't carry his team past Manning's though when it counted.

Voting for Brady isn't the worst thing. Brady won 12 games, while being surrounded by hot garbage. The Pats also got screwed on Monday night against Carolina.

yeah i gotta disagree here because we're talking regular season. Peyton Manning has had a bevy of offensive weapons...Brady was Elway-esque this year, really carrying this team to a place where no one expected them to end up...getting them to the AFC Championship was quite a feat.

They should take Miller's vote away from him forever because of this. Dope.

Goober is the offensive player of the year IMO but Brady made the tastiest of chicken sandwiches with that team this year. I don't have a problem with Miller having the balls to vote for what he believed vs voting for the Manning machine.

I give brady a ton of credit and I think he did more than Manning could have done with the team he had, but thats not how the dam award works. Manning had a complete MVP season.

I look at it like this. What more could the guy have done. Not much. yes, he has talent at WR, but he made it work.

So he picked Brady over Manning, it isn't like he voted a nobody as MVP. Brady had an MVP type of year considering all things.

If you put Manning on the Pats this year they do not end up in the AFC championship game.

Yeah dude. That INT at the end of the game made me lose to you in the FF league. And cost me my playoff spot. :(

Manning set all-time NFL records for passing yards and touchdowns. Miller's a fucking dunce and his vote is indefensible.

Brady was MVP of his team.

Manning was MVP of the league.

I don't like Peyton but if you don't concede that he was the clear-cut MVP of the league this year you're simply not being objective. Of course he has good players around him. So did Brady in '07. So did Favre when he won three years in a row. So did Warner in '99. What did you guys want Peyton to do, throw 75 TD passes? How many would've been enough? This is just silly.

How did Jim Miller become one of the 50 voters?

I agree with you, he is the clear cut MVP. But no one here is really saying he does not deserve the MVP, just we can see someone might think what Brady did this year was worthy of a vote.

But it wasn't worthy of a vote. He had a nice season, but it doesn't compare to Peyton's. Nobody else should've even gotten 1 vote. Peyton made it a non-discussion since about Week 12.

I think debates like this really come down to the definition of "MVP." Is the MVP the player who performed the best, irrespective of circumstances (e.g. Manning)? Or do you focus in on the circumstances and identify the player who did the most with the least (e.g. Brady and others)? Either way someone is going to get penalized for things beyond his control.
