No doubt Manning is in the GREAT group. Favre, Elway,Brady, Marino, Montana, etc.

Some of these guys are in the GREAT club based on pure physical ability to throw the ball. Marino and Elway for example. Not only could they sling it, but they understood how and when to play QB. Elway gets into the Elite level with a couple of Sb wins and 5 trips is impressive. Brady gets 3 Rings, awfully impressive.

Eli, on the other hand gets into the GREAT club based on 2 Rings. Just cant deny the accomplishments of 2 rings. Hate to say it, but 2 rings is a rare club or the very good. Just not Elite. Yes, he made 2 great plays that get him to GREAT, but it was not a consistant play over his career that shows him to be Elite. This year is not an example of an ELITE QB

Peyton is sitting in the GREAT club right now. His Playoff record isnt great, this Super Bowl puts him into the conversation with Montana, Elway, Brady, Bradshaw as an All time great, The Elite of Elite. Today he stays even with Favre in the GREAT club or moves to the Elite club.

I disagree. He's already elite.

Come on, dude. You're trolling here. No way Manning and overrated belong in the same sentence, unless you're talking about his sense of humor or acting skills.

Manning, while Great is just not Montana, Bradshaw or even Brady

All that talent in Indy with Harrison, Wayne, Clark and even Ed James, this isnt a shabby bunch and he only beat lovies cover 2 greatness in the rain.

He needs this win to get into that Elite club of "______ was the best QB ever"

Trent Dilfer has a ring and Manning and Trent dilfer should never be mentioned on a comparable plane.

This doesnt mean Manning hasnt been Great, he just isnt in the bar conversation of 'This guy was the best QB" Thats a few rare people.

Why doesnt Warner get more praise than Manning? he performed much better under similar circumstances and he had to more than earn it. Peyton was always given anything he asked for years.

Like it or not, Today could knock Manning out of the Elite conversation

1. Elway
2. Montana
3. Brady
4. Bradshaw - Only because during his era nobody changed teams
5. Young
6. Warner
7. Aikman
8. Favre
9. Manning, P----> can move to 5 or 4 today
10. Manning, E---> and I hate putting him here!
11. Marino ---> quickest BB release ever, was he reason they never won? I dont know, but he is the only one to beat the greatest team ever 85 Bears and that count for something

Elway, Montana, Warner, Young, Bradshaw, Brady > Manning

Funny how winning the SB changes ones perspective. Elway was a shadow of himself when he finally won one.

Not sure how anyone could have some of those guys ahead of Peyton right now.

IMO at the minimum he has to be top 5.

Elway was considered a mistake-prone gunslinger who couldn't win until TD won him two Super Bowls.

I still don't buy him as elite even with the 2 rings.

Biggie... not trying to be a dick but if two of them are there based on physical skill alone, where is Cutler on your list? Jeff George? Kordel Stewart? Colin Kaepernick? Michael Bishop?

He's Jay Cutler with likability and two rings. I'll hang up and wait for the death threats.

Marino blows that entire list away.

I dont put put Marino into the elite due to lack of Super Bowls.

but it is so hard for anyone to tell me that Eli is or ever has been a better QB than Dan Marino.....really tough to sell that judging Scale.

And Mr "ALWAYS BEEN ELITE" better have a helluva second half!
