Come on, dude. You're trolling here. No way Manning and overrated belong in the same sentence, unless you're talking about his sense of humor or acting skills.

Maybe not overrated but over-loved IMO.

He's a GREAT QB, just not in the ELITE conversation...does the fact he is throwing floaters around the field allowing Seattle to close on every pass ever get mentioned?

I might give him the smartest QB ever.

Keep tossing those floaters up..good defenses eat that shit up.

Aikman tossed bullets. You had no time to close. It got there in a hurry.

Why do you think he throws the ball before a guy makes a cut! It makes for a great QB, just not an elite one.

Sorry, an Elite QB does not get his ass whipped like this

Just saw this thread. Holy shit.

Just stop biggie. You're sounding fucking crazy here. Aikman is better than Peyton? Just please go back to posting Las Vegas White Sox threads. They make way more sense than your Peyton Manning thoughts, which make my Josh McDaniel thoughts actually look good.

It's not fair to hold Manning throwing floaters against him - he's got an obvious medical inhibition that explains the ducks. In fact, that's what makes his season all the more amazing than it already is.

By that criteria Kyle Boller is a top 10 QB of all time.

Huh??????

then why didnt Joe Namath toss a few and get credit?

Oh, I forgot, Manning needed Tony dungy to win a Super Bowl....which I really dont believe and actually hate that Dungy takes credit for getting Manning a ring....if anything Manning gets dungy a ring.

Manning is the OC, its his team when he goes somewhere.

Boller won 2 Super Bowls? Oh yeah, those little facts....and Boller was supposed to have an arm, which I think he left at Cal.

And No, just because a player can throw doesnt make him a good QB,,,,,

No. Overrated is correct. He's king of the bumslayers & remarkably limp wristed in big games. I'd put Jim Kelly on the same level, but even Machine Gun had more physical talent (& heart)

Judging QBs based on championships is as bad as starting pitchers based on wins. Based on semi-modern gys...

#1 Tier - Elway, Montana, Brady, Young, Marino, P Manning, Favre, Brady, Brees
#2 Tier - Bradshaw, Warner, Aikman, Fouts, Tarkenton, Roethlisberger
#3 Tier - Rivers, McNabb, Bledsoe, E Manning (I guess)

Edit: Adding Roeth.

Roethlisberger has as many SB wins as Manning and is clearly better.

Put Mannings head in favres body and you have the best ever maybe, but that shortcoming of both, takes them from my top tier.

Mannings long of the night of 23 was good enough for me.

Only so many games to be judged on in the NFL. and Super Bowls carry huge part of that weighted average.

Its why what I think is a totally average NFL QB, Eli Manning is considered in the great category by some with his 2 rings. Maybe it was 2 huge throws, 2 great catches, but he has the damn rings.

But then again, he could throw further than 23 yards

The guy you have rated #1 got beat 55-10 in a Superbowl.

If Eli was the QB for Dinver, they'd've won.

Like I said, he's Jim Kelly with an oddly effective p.r. group.

Overloved imo, but he really had no offensive talent around him & he actually did deserve his SB MVP, unlike Goober.
