There's your (pre-)deadline trade. Stan, you've done it again. Doing business with Charles Wang is almost predatory at this point.

Do these guys add anything? I don't follow the islanders much so I can't say I have even heard of them.

A little depth on the offensive end. And Stan gave up less than nothing for them. Can't hurt to have them

Regin's okay. Bouchard is hurt allllllllllll the time and he and his 2 million $ contract was sitting in their minors.

Curious Hair told me the Hawks won't make it out of the 1st round because they gave up this 4th rd pick.

I did no such thing.

Regin is a #3/#4 center, so he probably bumps Kruger up and Handzus out. Bouchard can't play for the Hawks until the playoffs because of the cap.

Thank Jesus.
Did I read somewhere that Kane has no even strength goals with Handzus on his line?

You did. Not sure if that remains true now, but it was the case for a long time. Quenneville's insistence on playing Handzus anywhere but 4th/PK was downright dumb. You know I've not been a fan of Shaw at center, but even he was a better 2C than Handzus this year.

CH has me so distraught over this team that I forgot the "win".

I'm feeling pretty good about the construction of the team going forth, but that'll change if the Blues get Ryan Miller or the Ducks get another big piece.

Also, it sounds like Pirri is in the airlock, waiting to be jettisoned.

I'm back to thinking the Hawks will roll through the playoffs regardless of who the Blues and Ducks get.

Does Regin have any PK skills?

I wish we could bury Handzus. I also wish we could put him on waivers and then assign his contract to Rockford.

But seriously, folks, I hope we can get something for Pirri if this is the end for him (and with Teravainen coming next year, it sure seems to be). We're fresh out of cap space unless Kostka or Brookbank goes with. Frankly, I'm surprised we got Regin and not Marcel Goc. I figured an expiring contract for a #3 center from a Designated Trade Partner team was a natural. I don't believe the Bowmans have traded with the Isles before.

So they let Handzus bring nothing to table for 60 games or so bit they're going to shitcan Pirri after not much more than a courtesy looksee?

Marcel Goc would've been a nice pick up. It's too bad Toronto is again riding the luck train to the playoffs instead of selling. Jay McClement would be sweet.

Yeah I don't understand this one. The couple games he played last week(?) they looked better than with handzus.

Doesn't look like Raanta got sent down to Rockford for the break. Is this because even though there are no games being played, there's still an 18-skater/2-goalie minimum for the active roster? That has to be it, because it's a waste of development and cap hit to have him up with no games to play.
