The best part about that return? When all the blockers were facing the wrong direction and didn't know what to do when he was running. First time in 6 games a fair catch was not called.

Also, another bad-fun thing to watch on special teams --- watch the kickoff return team. When the ball is kicked, they all just kind of stand there. They do not attack blocks or set up a blocking lane. They just stand there and wait for the kicking team to come down the field and run by them.

Scheelhaase's regression is painfully similar to Juice Williams'. I can remember Juice actually getting worse at throwing the ball from freshman to senior seasons. I don't know if it's Petrino's design or Scheelhaase's choice but they need to stop throwing to Jenkins 80% of the time. I think the Illini's second leading receiver has around 55 fewer catches than Jenkins. I'll be at Memorial Stadium on Saturday. I'm hoping the Illini do a 2004 Florida Gators against Wisconsin. That Florida team rallied around the Zooker after he was fired and they pulled an upset over Florida St on the road, a place where the great Steve Spurrier never won.

I'll be surprised if the Zookmeister lands another FBS D1 head coaching job.

Considering New Mexico just hired Davie, Zook will have plenty of those opportunities if he wants something at that level.

Zook would take the Penn St job in a heartbeat.

I just wanted to say that if the Illini hired Leach, that guy would sell out the place next season at Illinois. I heard on the Danny Mac show, talking about how attendace wasn't good, Leach would get the crowd excited again.

I don't know if ESPN would be babies and not put Illinois on tv, but I would say more people would watch them on tv, I know I liked watching Texas TEch football when he was there.

The only problem getting him, I would say Schellhasse would not be the starter.

Yes, Memorial Stadium would be rocking once again,

And the Illini would score 35 points per game.

I certainly hope that Leach's lawsuit against ESPN doesn't have him black balled. Screw ESPN.

As for Shellhasse, who cares if he is the QB or not. He's just a guy who has regressed.

Leach is certainly one of the more interesting guys in college sports, a conservative mormon, Attorney & pirate fanatic, who never played college football. He is an offensive genius.

I was unaware of this.

He is now my favourite collegiate coach ever.

They have a coach specifically for the outside linebackers?

I'll crack up if this eventually leads to Zook taking over as the Packers HC in a few years. I know it won't happen. But, it would be hilarious. Ron Zook - Super Bowl Champion.

Zook was known for his great defenses at Illinois.

They have had an OLB coach for years...it was Kevin Greene.

Isn't Zook known as a smooth talking recruiter who is soft and blows as a coach? God dammit McCarthy. The soft get softer.

He's also horrible at game management and likes to stare up at the scoreboard with a bewildered look on his face a lot when decisions need to be made...if that's the kind of stuff the Packers are looking for.

I forgot about him. I think that was me, too.

Had a picture of Gary Cole for an avatar just because he was too busy recruiting and that was close enough. That was my favorite part of all those posts.

He is the assistant special teams coach and not the olb coach. This scares me far less now. He can do his rah rah shit and fire up the gunners or something.

It shouldn't. It should scare you far more. Illinois had the worst special teams I'd ever seen. They went 10 straight games without returning a punt. 10 games! And he was in charge of ST as the head coach.
