Bingo. I know Ferentz has a pretty strict policy on recruiting with other's teams recruits. They will ask the player and parents if they should stop calling or continue. If they say step, they stop.

For the big deal Paul made about this, Lazard better be the second coming of Todd Blythe for the Clones....

It's funny you bring up Blythe...was talking about this recruit with a ISU fan at work...he said he couldn't remember the last time we had a good receiver...I said Todd Blythe and he said "yeah, but he didn't have anyone to throw to"...

...so...who's going to throw to Lazard? :(

That is ISU's issue. Their QB Development is poor.

Blythe was a darn good receiver.

Just need to hit the JuCo Little Lotto again and get another Seneca in Ames...

I was joking with a coworker earlier in the week about this TCU game being a problem...  ...playing to the level of their competition again...

...but hey, it sounds like there are at least twice as many Cyclone fans there as there are TCU fans, so that's nice I guess.

Agreed...at the time I posted that a win wasn't guaranteed by any means...TCU hung with them well into the second half.

Lunardi now has Michigan as a 3 going to Milwaukee and ISU as a 4 going to San Antonio...oh well, I guess he ranks Big Ten higher than Big XII...if only they had met this year...oh wait.

If Georges Niang doesn't shoot another 3 point until he's playing what they pass off as pro ball in some third world nation, it will be too soon.

Not bad, losing at K-State to Bruce Weber in what they apparently call the "Octagon of Doom"...but they fell into the trap of getting three point happy late when they really didn't need to.

Oh, and Melvin Ejim for Big XII player of the year. That is all.

The way Iowa is going - no guarantee they beat the 11.

Just checked the new bracket....two things of note for the Cyclones...

1) Joe still has them as a 3...not sure how/why, but road losses at K-State and Baylor must not be counted against you...

2) He no longer has Iowa as the 6 in the same region...no, now he has...Ohio State...

...low blow Joe, low blow...

Iowa is likely headed for a 7 or 8 right now. If they win tonight against MSU, probably back up to a 6, loss to an 8.

http://www.bracketmatrix.com/ Great site that combines all the polls.

Interesting...I'd still think they are no lower than a 7...even if they lose to MSU...I don't think teams are getting penalized for losing to good teams on the road hardly at all (see ISU)...

...also, regarding that site...I wonder how many people would put Syracuse ahead of both Virginia and Duke if they filled out a bracket today...that team is tanking.

Syracuse is a very matchup specific team. If they play a team that can bust a zone, they are upsetable

Absolutely...I'd say the skid they've been on lately cements their upsetability (trying to see how many versions of that word we can use)

As for ISU, really hoping for a win today vs. the Cowboys...but the post-suspension Smart looks like he's made this team a force to be reckoned with. I think if ISU wins today and can win at least one in the Big XII tourney, they have an outside chance at holding on to that 3 seed Lunardi has them slotted into right now...but if they lose today, they'd probably need to play (and possibly win) in the Big XII tourney final to get anything better than a 4.

And I've pretty much given up hope on them playing in Madison...Lunardi seems to think those fucking mustelinae from Madison and Ann Arbor have those spots locked up.

To be honest I'm not terribly upset about Niang fouling out...if he would stick to what he's good at (driving to the hoop) I'd be more upset but he gets into the habit of thinking he's out there to shoot the 3 every chance he gets.

Just heard the announcer say they played "Oh Canada" before the game for Ejim...

I really hate the 35 second shot clock. It makes no sense and seems to make the game purposely more boring and tedious. I love games like this when neither team seems terribly interested in wasting everybody's time.

Well you're going to hate this last possession for the Cyclones when Kane stands at midcourt for 30 seconds and then either takes a shitty shot or doesn't even get one off.

He read that and said fuck you lipid, I'm scoring immediately.

Good on him! So delighted that I was wrong...I can't believe they left the lane that wide open for him to drive.
