What does this mean to this conversation?

This is the Psalmist speaking about how God made the world and put man at the center of it. Had God created aliens he would have made them subject to man because man is made in God's image despite being lesser in glory than heavenly beings.

Saturday. Sunday is the Lord's Day and is celebrated by Christians because Christ rose from the dead on a Sunday.

Huh? Didn't God order you to "Keep holy the Sabbath"? You Christians have got mighty big sets of balls on you to take it upon yourselves to switch the Sabbath to Sunday.

Christians are not obligated to keep the Sabbath. You have the Old Testament and the New Testament or as they are also called "The Old Covenant" and the "The New Convenant." Christians are under the New Covenant.

So you're saying it's possible that God created Aliens. They'd just be subservient to man?

I think he set it up as a model of what we should do with our week. I don't think he needed to rest, but I think he chose to rest and probably just enjoy his creation. I'm sure if you made something really spectacular you would want to admire what you created.

But he didn't. Because he created all of Earth and Heavens THEN decided later something was missing and created man. So... the world was not created with man in mind.

Wow. Once someone resorts to "because the Bible doesn't say so..." all logical discourse is gone. I think MD is a troll though.

I think maybe you're overthinking things here.

Revelation 13:8 "All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast--all whose names have not been written in the Lamb's book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world."

The second part of the above verse refers to Christ being slain from the creation of the world. Meaning in essence that Christ was God's plan before man sinned.

There are two stories in the Bible about the creation of man. There is the story of man being created on the 6th day and the story of God created Eve from Adam's rib. Mankind was not an accident it was clearly in God's plan all along.

Romans 10:4: "Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes."

What this means is that Christians are not obligated to keep the Jewish Law. God fulfills the Law in Christ and allows for the followers of Christ to be justified through their faith in Christ and his sacrifice on the cross.

I would say the 10 Commandments are pretty much all still relevant to Christians with the exception of observing the Sabbath on Saturday. The Bible talks about Jesus being the Sabbath rest for Christians. Jesus said the two greatest commandments were to Love the Lord your God with all your heart soul, mind and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself. The 10 commandments are summed up in those two commands.

You realize the Sabbath is on Saturday and Christians worship on Sunday, right?

Saturday, Donny, is Shabbos, the Jewish day of rest. That means that I don't work, I don't drive a car, I don't fucking ride in a car, I don't handle money, I don't turn on the oven, and I sure as shit don't fucking roll!

I think the seven days were how long he decided a week should be.

Wait, so then when the bible says people are 900 years old... do you take that literally?

These clips come from last night's HBO documentary Questioning Darwin. Says the first interviewee you'll see above, Pastor Peter LaRuffa, "If somewhere within the Bible, I were to find a passage that said 2 + 2 = 5, I wouldn't question what I'm reading in the Bible. I would believe it, accept it as true, and then do my best to work it out and understand it."

Yes, and then comes this verse.

Genesis 6:3: "Then the LORD said, 'My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.'"

Five billion years ago, our Earth was a molten mass. For some reason unknown to scientists, the Earth cooled, forming a crust, a hard igneous shell, what we scientists call ... rock.

So that Richard Dawson sure fucked a lot of women....

Which is greater? Number of donuts consumed by Louis Anderson while hosting or number of women that Richard Dawson had sex with while hosting.
