WOW!

I expect to see a WSCR Float next year in the pride parade with all the Homosexual expertise being 'shoved down my throat  ' today!

Bernstein-Asking anyone if they know anyone who hates gay people? And point them out
Danny Mac-Would be hesitant and then be on top of float waving the flag by the end. "COME ON OUT CHICAGO!'
Boers - "hey Buddy, how do ya get out of here?"
Spiegs - "I have a friend whose gay and he is a pretty good guy"
Leary - "I think some of them are probably attracted to me, thats totally cool"
Abattacola - 'hey, where are the hot chicks you guys hang out with?"
Mully - 'My old man, is rolling over in his grave"
Hanely - 'What time is this over?'
Hub - Should I wear my earing?

You gotta wonder how Mitch can sit in his office & listen to this crap every single day. For a major market radio program director, I don't see him directing much programing. People used to give North shit for straying from sports, but Berns is off the rails here & Mitch just lets him do whatever he wants. God how I wish he would have taken the WGN job. Mitch should replace Terry with a gay guy...now THAT would be some fun.

I just stopped listening to the score during the football season, which apparently now is year round.

Dan isn't wrong, he just bases everything on the assumption that most people have some issue with things, such as MichaelSamWill, when it is usually a minority of an issue that he focuses on . North just made shit up and most of his "stray from sports" was political, which was a mistake.

Either way, BB show not very strong, has run out of steam

First and foremost, there's no money to be made by getting in the parade or on the float. So there is zero motivation for him to participate.

Second, while being all about taking a faux position to bash others (his own special brand of intolerance) he in no way wants to be associated as being gay, pro-gay, or gay supportive.

Third, until the advertisers balk Mitch will sit in his office and smile as his CBS corporate master approve of the revenues he's earning.

Which is why I don't have to listen because like the final North months I've already heard it and just like North there's the need to go to further extremes to justify his existence.

I don't know about this part. I mean, the whole impetus behind this is to be supportive.

Really? Because I haven't heard him take/make one step forward to support or promote but rather he chooses to build straw men to take down or to troll those who don't agree with his amorphous position. When you consider that "gay" (non-complimentary) was almost a trademark aspect of his program not long ago he should/could first and foremost amend to his change of thinking and make a declarative statement acknowledging such and explain where, why and how he truly stands. No, its far easier for him to troll others and bash individuals for not agreeing to where his thinking is "today" or because they have taken a stance. They aren't the one's who's position has changed, its his, and I think it has more to do with it being about a radio show than any personal conviction.

Producers get free tickets to the Roast, but then have to be part of the WSCR Pride Parade float.

If the Hawks and Cubs can do a float, why cant WSCR? I mean if they are such proponents of the "PRIDE", The Sox should have one as well. They have quite a % of lesbians that live in bridgeport now that have become part of that fan base. The Bears then should have one if they draft a guy.

I figured the impetus to move away from that kind of joking was moreso from Mickey Mouse not liking it, perhaps seasoned with a concern by Dan that any shred of possibility of being a "public persona" beyond the Score, as well as sports talk in general, could be marred.

Mickey Mouse? It's CBS. And it's probably more because his wife plans a lot of same-sex marriages.

For whatever it's worth, Dan's gay jokes were never really hateful or anything, more just about finding it funny when a drunk guy yells "THIS GUY'S GAY!" on the news, or Bob Barker announcing that the top winner of the showcase is Gay. I mean, it's funny!

Round up some backup singers and a horn section and this would be a good jingle for the station. Get PAMS on the phone.

Don't the gays have their own wedding planners?

Well, it's not like there is a shortage of actual gays in the wedding planning business.

Don't believe I've heard Bernsie protest a crap -- not to say it doesn't happen. I don't always listen to segment.
As for Larry, he protests shots directed his way during Hater Wednesday, so this isn't a surprise.

Are you saying this subject shouldn't be discussed? I disagree.
I believe it's a major news story -- even though I hope in time when other pros come out that it isn't.

Discussion is one thing......bludgeoning it to death, resurrecting it via application of the dark arts, then bludgeoning it to death again and then calling everyone who thinks any different than the host, or say "who cares," a bigot is another thing.

I love when someone puts words in my posts "I never said it should not be discussed"

but every shot is now experts on what gay people think, how they live, what they do, etc.

Personally, I just dont care. Many of my neighbors are gay, I don't need Mully, Hanley, Mac, Spiegs or the in House Shrink Danny bernstein to explain to me how to think and act around gay people.

The point being that all of a sudden they are experts on pride and expression and for years, they made just as much fun of it as anyone.

I will guess Spiegs has interacted with some gay guys in the music biz and other ventures he has been part of, but Dan helping his wife clean up after a wedding and saying hello to a florist who he assumes is gay, doesnt really make him the expert of what goes on in the gay community and how they wish to be seen or communicated with or most importantly for.

When Dan tries to tell me what a gay man is thinking when he goes into the mens shower? How the fuck does he know what any gay man has ever thought in that situation? Has he asked him? Well, if he hasnt then he should shut the fuck up and telling everyone in the world about what that guy thinks.
