I don't disagree...just saying, even if the higher ups didn't say they had to buy a table, you would think Terry would want to support him.

This really speaks volumes about Bernstein I can appreciate that he is a weenie, but he cannot even be mensch. He should know better. Imagine how many man of the year events his dad has had to purchase tickets for over the years when his co workers are being honored

Is it confirmed or just Beardown that he will not be there in Tux? Regardless, yes him buying a table is right thing to do.

I would guess that that Bernstein is going. I just said that he declined to be a roaster of Doug. He told McNeil that he didn't want to do it during a tranny.

Going to other people's stuff so they go to your stuff? Ugh, that's so quid pro quo. Who is he, Mike North? Come on. Aren't we above that kind of provincial Chicago mentality? What's even being monetized, comma, here?

I'm sorry, it just bugs me so much. I don't care what he learned, it just has to be wrong.

dan often asks others to attend things he is involved in.

When then should be not attend something "honoring" someone else?

It goes back to this being poorly planned at this point.

These types of events do trickle down. Terry, Mac, Hanley, Mully, Bernstein....if they all go, I bet you then pressure comes for all to attend...Oh, but thats bullying!

He meant how did the fight get started at the Ozzie roast. I think it involved Oney's girlfriend.

Oney getting into it with fans, then when he went up to talk, he got booed, the GF started yelling at the guys booing them, which led to some punches thrown....

I wasnt there, so of my diehard sox friends went. Before they went, they said, "I see this turning into a brawl"

Did anyone actually attend this event? Would it be worth considering in the future (brawl aspects aside)? Who from the the on-air talent attended?

I agree about promoting the hell out of one's charity event but declining to attend an event that promotes the employer (isn't the roast monetizing fan appreciation?). Interestingly, I've noticed less on-air mentions of the poker tournament, could it be that they quickly sold out their "limited" number of table slots (way to engender response) or could it be something else?

Don't think it's sold out, as you can still register as either a player or spectator on the website.

6pm on a Thursday? People who can fork over $295 I bet have to work Friday.

It does sound like a cool event. But thurs at 6 is such a dealbreaker.

Thurs is when you get the free room...but you know who could probably find you a room somewhere, real cheap or free, a wedding planner, if they somehow were involved and used their conatcs for this event.

I would like to go to this. I could probably even get my dad to go with me because of Buffone. I think he would be embarrassed when Sir refused to shake his hand because he is related to a guy named good dolphin

Heard Spiegs drop that Fencik will be a roaster?

This would have been a solid part of the information in the many many ads they drop all day

Hanley said Mongo is a Roaster. He's always good, with a mic, after a few, entertaining a crowd.
