North was a big part of early days Score success and identity. However, that was then...and at that time an all sports radio format was brand new. I loved it and consumed a lot of it. I honestly think his "shtick" has sailed. He would be just another guy....he would help them become more established, but not come close to anything he he once WAS. North sucks!

Closed for $550K each in a Short Sale.

In case you are not aware of what a Short sale is, that means the land was worth less than the equity in the land, thus upon selling the property the Selling party would still owe some $$.

The Short Sale signifies that the bank and the Selling party have an agreement that the seller doesnt owe that balance, thus making them want to sell.

Ironically, that forgiven debt in many cases is considered income and many Americans are now subject to owing taxes on that forgiven debt, which most dont have.

Now, North selling property in a Short sale......well, Mike, either you have plenty of money and you lied to the bank about not being able to pay it all back or your really dont have the cash? Pick a lane

Most likely a loss, but not sure about a huge loss. The (S) sale by a bank though is supposed to be used for those who cant pay after they sold...so technically he doesnt have the money.

I am guessing he went crying to a banker that he dealt with and asked for the Short sale, so he didnt have to pay back the loss.

participating in a short sale is essentially saying you are broke. Why else is the bank going to take the hit on your property, if you had the money.

Now, if the property is in Bebes name or a nieces name, or sisters name and they dont have shit, I could see that happening.

wait a minute it just hit me.... if only there was some deposed sports talk hero, perhaps the greatest sports talker of 2020, who already has familiarity with working at a station called "the game"

he could come back to chicago and make a name for himself, temporarily burning bridges with CBS (which i'd bet he doesnt wanna do) but betting on himself to establish himself as a chicago sports radio institution in the wake of losing the easy-CBS-transfer-ability and then after he kicks CBS' asses all over the place he can come back like the prodigal son on a big FA deal (like damaneel b4 him, ironically enough)

I talked to Mike for about 20 minutes Monday. It was good catching up with him.

Over the years, we differed on many things from a business standpoint, but I believe he's a genuine guy.... a man's man. And I miss him on the air. North stirred the pot....not much of that out there right now.

Mike says he's happy in his plug-it-in in-the-basement gig every morning.

I would enjoy hearing him again on a LOCAL station. Agree with whomever posted his undoing was when it became "The Mike North Show." He was given way too much rope...only to wrap it around his neck. I'm one radio consumer, however, who would listen to Mike regularly if he had a forum here on LOCAL sports.

I still listen. He's out of his mind most of the time but it's kind of entertaining.
