I listened for about 20 minutes today on the commute home. CONTENT ASIDE... what do you guys think of the over-the-air sound? I thought the mics were out of tune...or they have a horseshit processor.... or the board-op doesn't know what he's doing. Spike's mic, in particular was distorted badly. Also heard my boy Harry begin to ask Dave Eanet a question without turning his mic back on. The more things change....

It seems to me that not much planning went in to this. That line-up is not going to get anybody too excited. I went out to the WGN.FM website they have had Brandmeir "hawking" for since the move. It's not even updated with the new additions....sad!

The stream is o.k.

There is a touch of distortion on both of their mics.

Johnny B came on this morning and immediately said the mics sounded awful and asked why they waited until they were live to sort it out.

Stream sounds much better than the 87.7 version.

Didnt hear that much 87.7, but online is a steady sound. No highs and lows.

content.

I still like Johnny B and Buzz!

I'd love to hear Buzz but can't get the stream through work firewall and can't get regular radio reception.

If I don't hear Buzz for a long, long while, I'll try to find him left of the dial.

Not a Buzz fan from day 1. I always felt his "burnout" persona and voice was disingenuous.

Pete Vonachen, Jimmy.

But I do like your Sound of Music-like spelling of the name.

Johnny was giving it to everything that didn't work this morning pretty good. And whoever is behind the board doesn't have the first damn clue how to EQ mics. Let alone balance them. (since we know somebody there is reading this) Hey board op. The Tiny One should NOT sound like Casey Casem.

When I was driving home, I thought for a minute that it was a relative of Casey Kasem doing the broadcast, but then realized that was Harry with the settings all screwy. Defintely sounds weird -- do they need it to sound more AM-y? Maybe just too used to hearing AM quality.

Anyway--do you think you could play that song for me, so I'll be reminded of my beloved Sherry. I miss you, love Bertha. Well Bertha, I'm not gonna clap my hands but coming in at number 6 this week...is "Applause"...and do you know why the doe went out to the boat last night? To blow a couple bucks. Here's "Applause"...

This is all sounding pretty rough at first. Very raw and disjointed.

At least Mac is being fair and isn't pulling a Chet on "The Game". I'll never forget Chet saying what a failure that The Score would be back in the day.

I've been all over the Western and Southwestern 'burbs working this week, and have had it come in loud and clear. Got a bit staticy in Plainfield, though.

The signal cuts out in the Bentley up by Kenilworth from time to time but not enough to switch the dial.

Signal is pretty weak.

I don't think many or any stations are at 87.9. It's just kind of there. Kind of like how there's never really a Channel 1.
