Anybody catch that American chick who was way ahead in the Snowboard Cross and stumbled? Awful

Did she stumble because she tried a trick? I remember when they first put these X Games in the Olympics and the Jacobellis chick had the gold won and she was high-stylin' late in her run and fell down- no medal. And there is where the clash of cultures comes in. For some old crank like Costas, she's a fool who cost herself and her country a gold medal. But to her peers, if she hadn't tried the trick she would be a loser.

Pick a lane. Hockey players and basketball players are there for the experience and the gold medal comes a distance 2nd to winning a title in the NBA/NHL.

6 of our 9 gold medals came from Xgame events. 12 of our 28 total medals. They were without a doubt the only bright spot of the USA performance in the games. Alpine skiiing with 2 golds a silver and 2 bronzes did pretty good as well if you could look past the early failures of Bode Miller.

Biggest failure of the games easily goes to speed skating, long and short track. Only 1 silver to show for the entire games.

5 medals in sledding, but 4 of them were bronze and no golds despite having the #1 ranked contender in a few events going in.

2 medals in figure skating, one of them gold and none of them for indivdual skaters.

1 silver in women's hockey in one of the greatest collapses of all time which is essentially a last place trophy since its a two team tournament.

Overall, aside from the performance in Xgames, this had to be one of the biggest failures in winter Olympic history for the USA. Several big time names failed to come through (Davis, White, Celski, Miller, mens hockey).
