I know it maybe a crazy idea, but what about a tarp to put on the track, like in Baseball.

I have always wanted a roll up tarp tucked into the safer barrier. But you still need to dry the pit road and the apron. There would be drainage issues no matter what space age technology used. Doug would have a better answer.
