Egg McMuffin, meet the Waffle Taco.

Taco Bell is readying for the launch of its national breakfast menu on March 27, with items such as the A.M. Crunchwrap designed to appeal to its fan base of younger men. And the chain says breakfast will be available until 11 a.m. — a half hour longer than McDonald's offers its Egg McMuffins.

"We can turn the breakfast conversation into a two horse race," Taco Bell president Brian Niccol said in an interview, noting that Taco Bell intends to be a "strong No. 2" after McDonald's.

McDonald's has long been the fast-food leader in the mornings, with its popular Sausage Biscuits, Hotcakes and other items pulling in roughly 20 percent of the company's U.S. sales. But the chain has been facing stiffer competition in recent years, with competitors such as Starbucks and Subway rolling out breakfast sandwiches as well.

It's not clear how Taco Bell's entry into breakfast will alter the fast-food landscape. Last year, an executive with Taco Bell's parent company Yum Brands said that breakfast accounted for about 4 percent of sales in locations where it was tested. But that was before the chain put its full marketing might behind the menu, he noted.

when I worked midnights I loved when BK had the whoopers for breakfast. I would go by and get one just about every morning.

i kid you not, after my first bout with chrons when i was 19 i had lost any weight i had. i was at some 150lbs, 6'4" no joke (145lbs the day i went in the hospital). 3 weeks later, when i went back to work (construction) the boss would take us to burger king every morning and i would eat 3 whoppers and a large fry. it freaked him out. only did that for about a month though, once i gained back my normal weight my appetite dropped way down. these days i get a bagel in me before work, and im good till noon or so.

The McDonald's by me just got rid of Hot Mustard sauce so they can all go straight to hell.

That was the only stuff that made anything there edible.

On a positive note, adding balance to the Universe, the Popeye's by me just reintroduced Mardi Gras Mustard. So, once again, I never lose.

Absolutely.

Do we really need to go down this road again? The CEO doesn't like gay people, and thinks that they should be denied the same rights as you and I. He didn't mix words. He made it very clear. Of course, he has that right. Just as I have the right to boycott his restaurants, and call him a buffoon, who hides behind his bible, to justify his bigotry.

You made a ridiculous point about hating the troops, if one doesn't support military action in Syria. Even Chas wouldn't say something so silly.

Dan Cathy hates gays so much, that he has donated MILLIONS to political organizations trying to deny rights to gay people. After the SCotUS struck down the Defense of Marriage Act, he tweeted, "Sad day for our nation; founding fathers would be ashamed of our gen. to abandon wisdom of the ages re: cornerstone of strong societies." This hateful bigot actually thinks society will crumble if gays are allowed to marry. Of course, the big shot removed that tweet.
