When I see BBQ, I have to stop. 6954 N Western

I scan the menu and dont see any Baby Backs ribs, but I do see a Brisket Burger and I had one at BRAND BBQ, that was really really Good....while everything else there was below par.

Plus, I have made the 50/50 chuck.brisket burger myself and it was good so I just ordered one up.

THE BEST DAMN BURGER I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!! Now, did they have some chorizo in? Some spices? I dont know, but without sauce.....this was the BEST BURGER I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!

They did give me sauce on the side, without me asking! IMAGINE THAT! And the Samwich came with Coleslaw and literally about 12 small chips, but it just didnt matter. IT WAS THE BEST DAMN BURGER I EVER HAD!!!!!

I will be back that way in a couple of weeks and the Sausage, Pork and Spare ribs are now on the radar!

http://www.backcountryq.com/

Waiting to see how many times Kirkwood has already been there. lol and it is in JORR neck of the woods

No never been. But I'll stop one day after work. Usually hop off 94 at Touhy so it's right there. I'll wait for your reviews of other items before committing.

Did try Q BBQ on Diversey recently. It's OK. Got the pulled pork and thought it was alright. Don't understand the bouquets thrown at it.

Gotta get a Brisket Burger. Honestly, even if everything else sucks, which I dont think it will...it was worth it...

This guy claims he is REALLY smoking product....thus old school wood coals....pellets, other setups just cant reproduce a pit.

This place is a short walk from my house. I've been there several times and have never been knocked out by it. Shakes previously had a thread about it. I believe his take was similar to mine. I'll give that burger a shot on your recommendation.

I went once during the summer. I thought it was good, not great. They are skimpy on the portions

Then my burger call should be taken into consideration as it is the only thing I had here.

If they screwed up the Mussels at ATLAS, thats bad,

no, it sounds interesting i would like to try it. last time i made my own grind i used chuck, sirloin and shortrib (maybe 20% shortrib) but i have never attempted to use brisket nor have i had it at any restaurant

we didn't have any mussels, had the pretzels & cheese app, the pretzel was burned and not very good at all, just tasted like a burnt loaf of white bread...and my friend had a pizza and said it sucked.
but the burger was in fact very good...if i ordered it again though i think i'd hold the pesto goat cheese they put on .i like goat cheese but to me it tends to be very overpowering and took away from the rest of the flavors

Like i said , I dont know what they used, but its the fat cap, that I know it used for such a burger.

oh yea, this is the place with the custard filled cornbread, easily the most disgusting dish I've ever encountered in a restaurant.

I was at this place the week it opened and it sucked, but never tried the burger.

Maybe if I was already in the area and looking for something to eat I will give it a try, but I wouldn't drive out of my way for this place.

When I lived in Rogers Park, I hit this place a few times because it was about two minutes away from where I resided.

Every food item I had there was an abomination (pulled pork, sausage, ribs, some others I forget).

Never tried the burger, though.

I'll try it since it has a nice cutesy name that signals "THIS IS BBQ FOR WHITE PEOPLE."

Best to stick with GWiv's place in Lincoln Park or Smoque--those are the whitey meccas for North Side BBQ.

Lillie Q's is the whitest BBQ place I have ever been in.

True Winner:

Real Urban BBQ: C'mon this has to be the winner! They put "real urban" to give it cred! And the only two locations are in Highland Park and Vernon Hills! What the fuck is urban about those two places!?!?!?!

Runner-Up
Q-BBQ: Naperville, LaGrange and Lakeview and the food is only OK. But they have like 4 sauces (which are good) to use that give you directions on which meat to put it on. Us white people need help like that. They even have a spicy one!!!

In general, any BBQ place that makes a big deal out of its sauce probably doesn't know much about BBQ.

Real Urban BBQ was dogshit. Many guys on here made a big deal about it, so I decided to try it last year when I was up somewhere in the Northern Suburbs. Very overrated.

Yep, with the right amount of seasonings and smoke, I can do without BBQ sauce.

No sauce of my samwich.

BBQ sauce brought it down a notch

You seem to struggle when it comes to getting the proper amount or any BBQ sauce.

Yeah, GWiv is using a pellet smoker or some other BS equipment there. You're not going to get a good finished product out of that. I went to his place once. It was mediocre and overpriced.

When Tall Midget consumes BBQ he has personally prepared on his WSM, he leaves it completely unadorned. It is always glorious.
