I'm not calling the beer bad or anything negative, but no beer is worth waiting hours in line for and paying an insane markup on it. That's what makes it overrated.

Saw an episode of chopped with beer being a required ingredient with each dish. Then you hear about all these releases having lines and tickets. Beer enthusiasm has reached the level of wine drinkers. Though, have to give credit to wine drinkers for being real and embracing their snobbery. Beer drinkers still hiding behind beer being the everyman's alcohol of choice.

I don't get it either. I'm a big proponent of 'drink/eat what you want' but most of the food stuff I can understand. I don't care how good a beer it is, standing in line for anymore than a normal checkout time is a concept I just cannot grasp.

I learn stuff from the beer thread and they aren't snobs. But read reviews on BA and people at beer fests and I ask to myself WTF the fuck are you talking about.

Surly has become one of my favorite breweries over the past few months. Everything I have tried of there's has been top notch.

And I can't wait for the moniker "craft beer" to disappear. Aren't some of these fuckers huge? Are small wineries "craft wines" or distillers "craft whiskey". Annoying.
