I purchased one of those FitBit bracelets about 10 days ago and will start using it to help track some of my
eating habits. It has been a pretty cool little tool to show me how active I have been during the day. It
tracks steps taken, distance walked, calories burned and even tracks your sleep patterns. I haven't been
using the website to track the food consistently. Trying to rejump getting back to the gym. I was doing well
for the first two weeks and fell off. Still have time before the spring weather breaks to make a dent in my
gut.

I am having a tough time getting my ass back to the gym. Still not eating dairy, bread, pasta, sugar, junk food or processed foods & feel great. No more stomach aches or head aches & more energy.

week 2 of biggest loser and I was down 6.6 lbs for almost 14 lbs total. Real good start.

Some lady lost 17.8 lbs in ONE week!?!!?!? And like 26 total for the contest. That is crazy.

I have had too many false starts this year, and sick this week.

Gonna start DDPYoga back up this weeekend, and throw in a few 90-day workouts in between and hopefully get back on the bike if it ever stays above 20 degrees after next week.

I've stuck to none of my goals so I am trying to reboot this weekend. Also joining a contest at work so
maybe that will keep me honest. Still a chance to make some marginal gains before the weather breaks
for what may be a short spring. I'd like to lose 12 lbs by end of next month, I think that is a much more
manageable goal than telling myself I need to lose 35 off the bat.

slowly making progress in my biggest loser contest and in 2nd place with 17lbs and 6% of body weight lost.

The lady in our contest that lost 17 lbs in a week has fallen off the wagon completely and gained a bunch back already and is at a total loss of 12 lbs.

 just remembered there is a $1 penalty for every pound gained back during contest.

The lady is adding to my winnings.

God bless her

I've been hitting the gym 5 days a week last two weeks and my weight continues to climb. I think I
am going to try out the treadmill this weekend rather than the elliptical. Was trying to save my knees
a little bit but I know I am not getting as good a cardio workout.

I don't think this is unusual. I think your body is responding to a percieved survival risk - ie burning more calories than its used to.

I can defintely do the elliptical for a longer period of time but 25 minutes on the treadmill
knocking out a couple miles on a jog seems to be more intense than 45 minutes on the
elliptical. I think I get caught up in that when I am actually likely doing myself more good
by keeping an elevated heartrate for a longer period of time.

One week to go in our biggest loser contest at work. I am down 33lbs and in 2nd place. No way I can catch the guy in 1st and no way the lady in 3rd can catch me.

Now just have to find a way to keep it off this time.

Good stuff RFDC, but never say "no way." You cut off a leg and that is probably 40lbs easy.

are you keeping some type of journal of everything you eat and drink? Probably some things you don't realize are holding you back

maybe so, but it can really help. You do not have to do it forever, just a couple weeks to track where your calories are coming from. Gives you an idea of what might stall you. Everyone is different.

My problem is too much social stuff, time I'm eating, and life gets in the way of going to the gym. I really think I should have lost some weight by now with what I'm doing though. I'm just old.

I think you answered your own question. Dieting is a lifestyle change. Without the will power you will fail. What foods have you given up?

guess you have figured it out. If you want to lose weight it can be done many ways but it all involves some type of change and sacrifice.

Food journal helped me immensely. Just use a phone app, Spaulding. It takes 30 seconds to enter your meals and workouts.

I changed the drinking and night snacking. That should have been enough and am not seeing results. I eat pretty healthy at meals and during the day.
