Was going to say it must be provocative enough to get you banned for a week or two. Alas, I don't think your last post will cut it, but maybe for 4,000...

When there is so much to dislike about pro athletes, let's rip a team that plays hard every night. Even when they have injuries, lose good players, or get the crap kicked out of them, they come back the next game and play hard. Frankly this is an easy team to like. Watching Butler, Noah, and Gibson get the most out of their talent is a beautiful thing. Thibs is the best coach in the NBA.

Good foul by Augustin. Settle down Van Gundy.

Thibs is the Coach of the Year. The voters should not be influenced by what Horacek is doing in Phoenix. This should be his 3rd in 4 years.

Getting pro athletes to focus and play hard is a real talent. Look how many short tenured NBA coaches are out there.

Like the MVP award, CoY criteria perpetually change, and the results are never satisfactory. Confusion over the criteria is part of the reason why Jerry Sloan (!) never won a CoY award.

Is the coach of the year the person who does the most with the least, like Thibs and a few others, or the guy who oversees a beast team meeting its expectations, like Spoelstra or Rivers? Thibs could also qualify under a different rubric: a coach whose performance is more or less up to par despite catastrophic injuries (Rose), or losing key players in other ways (Deng).

At the end of the year writers always suggest this or that coach based on the above standards, and others, and it's just annoying that the basis on which a coach is selected has never been put to serious debate, at least as far as I know.

It's hard to do when they are making millions of dollars.

Noah third all-time for triple-doubles in Bulls history behind Jordan and Pippen.

What a difference a week makes. Last Sunday the Bulls looked terrible against LeBron-less Heat. In the past 7 days they have beat Atlanta on the road, Golden State at home, Dallas on the road and now New York at home. I do believe in this team and I think a lot of people want to as well, but the Knicks are terrible right now and next Sunday the Bulls play the Heat. So we'll get a better idea of how they're playing when they take on better competition.

Part of that is just because the Knicks are a bad team. They play no defense and they have pretty all but quit on their coach. How does a team with mostly the same roster go from a 50 win team to a sub .500 in a bad conference in one season?

Did anyone catch Van Gundy's comment about Rose's kid, "I hope he has better knees than his father."?
