It's 8:49am on the first day of the NFL Season and Greeny feels the need to bring his Roger Federer greatest tennis player of all-time agenda in the discussion.

Did it sound like they were using giant soup cans for microphones today? I know they were out of the studio but sounded pretty bad at least on my radio.

My Dear Internet Friends,
Mike Greenberg is Metrosexual? Sounds too close to homosexual to old Evil J.A.C.K.. His blatant flaunting of his lack of manliness is disturbing to me, to say the least. A man should be a man. Mr. Greenberg is not a man. He is a tiny fairy floating thru the garden of "I got shit lucky cause I covered the Bulls at the right time,l and if it wasn't for that I'd be dancing at the Manhole on Halstead today". You sicken me.

Your Dear Internet Friend,

Evil J.A.C.K.

PS, Happy hour is too concerned with others to truly experience a happy hour.

As much as I love tennis, I agree--first of all, Federer is unfortunately the greatest tennis player in the world at a time where only people outside of this nation care about it. I'm someone who likes parity in tennis, so I actually find it boring to watch Federer matches after a while, because he just dominates. Federer's match against Nadal in Wimbledon was the best I've seen in years, but that's very rare. Federer vs. Roddick in the QF of the US Open was...somewhat of a yawner after the first set, though Roddick did fight with all he could.

OK, done. But I see your point. At this time, the NFL should be dominating. It's just the way things are.

I don't mind when he talks tennis overall either. Your thoughts on Federer was kind of how I felt when Tiger was dominating every major. I find it so boring because golf used to be pretty damn unpredictable since I started paying attention in the early 90's.

Well, one thing I do like is watching the giants have to fight. that's why the nadal/federer match at Wimbledon was so compelling. I was ready to turn it off after Federer looked to take control, then Nadal took the next two sets, and forced a fifth set. And I saw some of the best tennis I've seen since the old Agassi/Sampras matches of the early 90's. That's the thing--Nadal brought out the best in Federer by challenging him.

Same thing happens with Tiger...at times. There are those who can at least contend with him on a good day--but more times than not, it's Tiger NOT playing up to his standards that allows parity.

I love a Sunday when Tiger's in the lead but there're people nipping at his heels. I want to see Tiger win, but I want to see a battle.

If there is tennis or golf talk, and it goes on for more than 2 minutes, I'm flipping the station.
