oh my god now he's reading his lapdog e-mailer's jokes.... "do you know who loves people not getting vaccinated? the people who make tiny little coffins" ---* RIMSHOT *

and terry evidently has a bug up his ass about jenny mccarthy because he's mentioned no less than 4-5 times in the last 10-15 mins that anything jenny mccarthy is a part of = not for him. idk terry your ambiguity here is beguiling me...... do you like jenny mccarthy or did i miss something?

this is dangerously close to PTFB radio for me. if they come back from commercial and it's more of "dan championing the establishment by railing against those [pejoratives] who don't get vaccines and thus want to kill my family" with sides of jokes from his ALS /calls from the biggest idiots they can get on the lines so dan can shout at them and call them stupid before terry starts rambling about something that ends with him saying "and you know if jenny mccarthy's involved, well, i'm not" --- then yeah, seriously, i might have to not come back for the rest of the day to prove my point. maybe they're still ragging on manchester city on talkSPORT so that'll be more fun than this.

oh my god... some numbnuts caller calls up like "yeah i wanna give my thoughts on the vaccination debate" and bernstein cuts him off to say "not a debate" ---- PTFB.

talkSPORT / podcasts here i come. i really don't like it when dan takes it upon himself to rail on behalf of the establishment in terms of things that aren't sports. i don't need him to pick a wildly popular / populist cause and try to shame those who dont believe him into joining his side because he's going to call you names and call you some kind of giant idiot for not doing the common sense thing and being in lockstep with bernstein.

can't take it. anyone else here still listening you are a braver man than i cuz this isn't entertaining radio, this is weird "YOU WILL OBEY AND LISTEN TO AUTHORITY" radio and i didn't sign up for that. gee, i wonder what's on THE GAME right now.... idk, but i might give it a shot now that the score has alienated me from their flagship program thanks to this shitty radio.

(and yes, i know dan's defense mechanism for people like me is the very amattacolan "IF YOU DONT LIKE IT DONT LISTEN" thing, but still, if enough people "DON'T LISTEN" then maybe the score will have to have a word with dan that while it's fine and good to spread positive social messages/awareness, spending 45/+ mins harping on the subject = not the thing you wanna do ON A FUCKING SPORTS TALK SHOW)

They probably never made an offer, just told him thanks and if for some reason you arent getting offers come back to us and we will make you a deal.

This. And they knew the minimum for him next year for him was higher than the bargain from this past season and cap wise is dumb.

I know people in the medical profession, and everyone of them have said that diseases can morph over time because of anti-vaccination parents.

My only problem with Bernstine in this case is making this a vaccination show. It's boring. I had to turn it off. See, Mitch? Too many of us turn it off and tell advertisers about it, then you could have a problem.

But this is one case where I agree with Bernstine. It IS HIGHLY dangerous. And the links between vaccination and autism are way overblown.

Well I am reasonably sure Dan will have his children lined up for the first experimental HIV vaccine since he has so much trust. He really should stop doing a mean version of parts of Roe Conn's show.

There are no links period. The original "findings" have been discredited even by the author. Jay and his jizz sock are living life according to the gospel of Jenny McCarthy.

What the hell is with this show? Who cares what Cutler and his wife do?

I digress. If its true what their guys are telling them, its a pretty dumb move by the Bears. I think everyone saw that McCown had the Trestman offense down to the extent that a backup should. He would likely function well again as a backup. While I don't know how much stock you put into mentoring, he might have even been a good guy to have for whatever QB they pick in the 3rd-4th round of the draft. All this said, I would have offered him an average QB backup salary, at best.

Something else to throw out there. If Trestman is the QB whisper everyone says he is and we can assume McCown showed some flashes in practice of what he was able to do in game, don't you lock the guy up earlier in the season to a longer-term contract at a lower salary? I can't see what McCown did as a fluke that surprised everyone.

Or......if you see what a guy like McCown could do in this offense, why in the hell would you pay someone 22 million a year to run the same offense?

This is what Dan can't grasp......people aren't saying McCown is a better overall QB than Cutler, people are annoyed, much like the Bears, that with so many holes to fill they chose to break the bank on Jay when you didn't really have to. Which is probably reason #1 why McCown isn't back. Not enough money. Of course, this is a team that paid Jason Campbell 3 million a year. Emery will be even more "annoyed" when he's out of a job in 2 or 3 years.

Or I guess I should type "McGowan" in my best meatball. That seems to make Dan feel better.

"They were annoyed that he did so well" is the Bearsiest thing that's ever been Bearsed. I'm not even surprised.

The second one will get you yelled at and hung up on. The first might get you a blog on the Score's website.

That statements, if true, is a sad commentary on who they are and what their show has become. Company Meatball, a blind and unexplained bias towards management that accepts the most convoluted reasoning without explanation. So, in other words, the Bears want to not only overpay Cutler but to overpay in the hopes that he will live up to the overpayment. At the same time, not only should they not pay for the backup but that the backup should also play down to his contract.

Dan is now tweeting info about vaccinations and called anyone who doesn't "stupid, horrible people."

I agree with Dan on the vaccination issue, but I thought this tweet that was sent to him also reflects my thoughts:

@dan_bernstein you have a gift at making me annoyed with you even when I agree with your overall point.

That's why he makes the big bucks. He can annoy people in every quadrant.

I don't believe that's true.

That is a ridiculous position and I'm pretty certain that the Bears much preferred McCown's play as Cutler's fill-in/backup as opposed to what Caleb Hanie or Jason Campbell did.

Josh, you played a 5 game stretch that was on par with the greatest passing displays in franchise history. You were the offensive player of the week during this period, you outperformed our franchise quarterback, and you are the main reason we were able to nearly make the playoffs. I think it's obvious why we will have to let you go.

Oooohh am I really about to drink the B&B Kool-Aid on their Josh McCown thoughts? Ugh. Well here goes. For as good as Josh McCown was I don't see how it would make sense for the Bears to offer what the Bucs did to keep him as a backup. One for cost reasons, two for not wanting to upset Cutler. Why commit that amount of money when it could and should be better spent elsewhere?

As far as the Bears being "annoyed" with all the McCown talk, well that's a different story.

you didn't listen to the show. Their inside guys say the Bears were not even interested in offering him a contract. Period. Even before the got the offer from the Bucs. In other words, they wouldn't have offered him a deal even if he didn't have one otherwise.

This is what they said.

I don't believe either has 'inside' guys, and I don't think it was a foregone conclusion that McCown was leaving Chicago. It was always going to come down to what he was offered elsewhere.
