Most teams don't have a backup that plays the same way as the starter. I believe he is making $5M too. That's why I thought it was odd.

I told you guys 3 or 4 years ago that there would be an influx of college head coaches into the NFL who would be successful & that the way NFL football is played would change & the league would be better for it. The NFL now mimics the college game which is a more exciting version of football in my opinion. Sproles to the E A G A L E S is a natural fit & makes complete sense. Philly was my favorite team to watch last year & I cant imagine how fast & explosive they will be this year.

Are the Eagales a team in Mexico?

Apparently you missed the various WSCR hosts playing the drop from Les spelling it this way.

Seriously, how did I miss that?! I need to find the audio of that one. What a moron...

I looked but cant find it anywhere. Surprised you haven't heard it as it was played alot.

As a 49ers fan, neither trade excites me. They really need a backup QB, but Gabbert isn't the answer. Need someone alot better than that. As for Martin, I know Jim coached him in college, but you can't have him on the roster. The 49ers pride themselves on being a tough team, and Martin is far from that.

I'd be fairly excited to have a QB with 1st-rd talent that will finally have a real coach working with him. Especially as a back up.

I don't think Gabbert has 1st round talent. Same with Shea Mac. Same with Tebow. Gabbert is a terrible QB.

I did laugh at schmitty's comment "neither trade excites me". Yeah, no shit.

Gabbert will look a whole lot better with the Niners. Harbaugh will take him under his wing & help him too.

He might help him be just plain bad instead of horrendous. Gabbert will never be a productive NFL player though. He looks scared shitless out there every time he drops back, even when there is no pressure.

Isn't Detroit dumb for giving Golden Tate $5M?

Why are we talking about Gabbert? He will likely never see the field except in blowouts if SF continues its winning ways. Who the hell cares? That's like wondering what DeSagana Diop will bring to his next team of employment, if ever. Who cares?

remember when Alex Smith was a bust

Harbaugh has made lesser talents into NFL QBs since his NCAA Div II days. Johnson is still sitting there with NFL jobs despite an inability to hit the broadside of a barn with his passes

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) – Hamilton County Jail officials and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office confirms Jim Irsay, the owner of the Indianapolis Colts, has been arrested in Carmel.

Officials say the arrest happened at 11:41 p.m. Sunday night.

Irsay has been preliminarily charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Officials say Irsay is currently at the Hamilton County Jail.

The bond for Mr. Irsay was set at $22,500.

His daughter was in one of my classes at IU. He came in to speak one day and talked about spirituality, honesty, being a good person etc etc etc. If he wasn't a member of the Lucky Sperm Club he'd be a beach bum in California. 100% fucking idiot.

Seahawks surrendered a 7th-round pick for QB Terrelle Pryor, per league source.

Why?

It's a good thing it's not about the money. Because Russell Wilson makes less than new Seahawk teammate Terrelle Pryor.

I heard some crazy idea that was totally out of left field months ago about converting Pryor to a DB...a really tall and really fast DB. I think it was just a random fan comment but I would rather watch him try to play safety than try to play qb.

The story said he was ranked 48 out of 49 qb's in some metric. My point about a dumb move is not only he is bad at qb but they were going to cut him.

His decision-making was always suspect, but he looked like a man among boys on a few of those runs from scrimmage. A 7th round pick is no biggie if they can find a way to utilize him.

And the Seahawks have a running QB. Makes sense to get a guy who can run the same offense in case of injury, right?
