I'd have to think about it myself. Forcing masculinity on someone who might not be a masculine person would contribute, as I alluded to earlier, feelings of depression and increasing confusion. I wouldn't want to be the guy to de-gay my son thru force. I wouldn't want him to get beat up, but I like this kid's moxie. He's taking a beating and he's still keeping his fucking lunchbox. Good for him. Brave little fucker and I would LOVE to see my kid have that kind of conviction at age 10 instead of falling for herd mentality.

That's very noble of you. I wouldn't give my son the option. He'll have to find other ways to express his individuality.

That usually ends with dying of "pneumonia" in a Hospice.

Forcing masculinity?, please... I call bullshet, You wouldn't let him go to school with makeup and a skirt would you? You wouldn't let him go to school in a bikini? It's our responsiblity to guide them and not let them do something like taking a girls lunch box to school. And if you do let them, then don't be surprised if the other kids pick on them.

Maybe this is a Bernstein type parent ploy to get bullying of certain types highlighted in a closed minded school aired out and draw attention. Neolib family sends their boy to school with that box for the greater good. #rightsideofhistory.

I think there's a difference between wearing a bikini and makeup... and a lunchbox with a pink pony on it.

It's sad a kid gets labeled in school. It has gone on since before any of us were born and it seems like it will continue. The mom should know better than letting her son bring that to school, but it's still not right to jump the kid.

Of course not. So what you do is punish the bullies hard, then take the boy aside and say "you know, just between you and me, maybe we can find you an even nicer lunchbox."

Zero tolerance is the best thing that could ever happen to bullies. Just like hockey, they always catch the retaliation. And just like hockey, sometimes you should let kids clumsily flail away at each other if it lets them blow off a little steam.

I have to admit when I was in elementary school they kept moving me up a grade and so on. In my area of the city the kids weren't very friendly to that so took a lot of shit. These days it wouldn't go on. In my kid's school there is zero tolerance for anything.

Anyway left after 6th grade for catholic school and shot up and filled out. Pittmike the freshman football player at 5' 10' 160 came a calling. Justice was served over and over again.

Those are the kids you should reach out to and stick up for.

It seems like there is more to this story or something.

There is. His mother needs her ass kicked. Why would you send your son to school with a fucking girl lunchbox? What did she expect to happen? In just about every school he would get teased.

That was my first thought too. No way in hell is my Son going to school with a Girls lunchbox. Bad parenting!

If I am reading the story correctly, the lunch box is a small part of what is going on with the kid. I would be shocked if the kids involved hadn't already been disciplined at least once.

Different things maybe, but the end result is the same. My point is just by telling the kid to leave the lunchbox at home is not forcing masculinity.

Don't bring it to a CSFMB event. You might be labeled a geek.

Our parents must have shopped at the same K-Mart. I had Dukes of Hazzard and Pac-Man aswell. Blue light must have been flashing non stop those years.

Yeah. Might of been her way of getting attention on it and making it stop.

SJWs are slippery-slopin' on this and saying that before you know it, schools will be encouraging gay people not to be gay or Muslims not to be Muslims because that's a bully-trigger. Kind of annoying to see actual disadvantaged groups being conflated with kids who buy My Little Pony lunchboxes.

Require the bullies to have a My Little Pony lunchbox, or even worse, the cheap knockoff version of My Little Pony.

Are there people making knock off versions? I don't recall my daughters liking them.

I think it's really easy for a parent to forget what it was like at that age. And these days especially, you have a lot of older parents who are far removed from their own school days.

I have a friend whose son was about six or so and was attending a soccer camp. The kid forgot his bag with his gym shoes and his cleats at his dad's house. My friend had paid a bunch of money for the soccer camp and she wanted the kid to go but he had no shoes and they were running late for the first morning of camp. She called her friends with kids around the same age to borrow a pair but all she could find was a woman who let her borrow her daughter's Strawberry Shortcake shoes. They were rushing to get to the soccer camp and that was as good as it got that day. I could have told her what was going to happen. Of course the kid got bullied. He had his cleats for day two, but naturally he was known as Strawberry Shortcake boy for the duration of the camp.

People act as though kids picking on other kids, is something new. Perhaps that's a result of the politically correct society we live in today. People seem to think all this kind of stuff should have disappeared. But it has not, and perhaps never will. I blame the parents for ever having purchased a "My Little Pony" lunchbox for their son. They might as well have picked out one that had "KICK ME" printed on it. The school should certainly have reprimanded the kids that picked on the fancy boy, but telling him he needed to get a different lunch box made sense. The school recognized that the teasing would not stop as long as he was bringing it to school. The parents should have had the sense to know that lunch box was going to cause problems before it was purchased.
