Chris Sale will go somewheres about 19-7, 2.74 Era

Abreu will hit 35 HRs, .940 OPS

Sox will go 90-72, win the division over an underachieving Tigers squad. You can put it on the board, YES!!!

Just a double shot of prognostication, going down smooth and straight.

... And whiskey. Always whiskey.

Elnhurst Ralph.

Are you still pretending to be a fan of both teams? Or have you finally admittedly you're a Cubs fan? Our guy Mac says the first two steps are admittance you have a problem and admittance that you are powerless over it.

.500 would be a pleasant surprise. Not enough pitching, the gloves HAVE to be better than last year. I like the lineup, but who's on third?

Besides the weakness of the team overall, the Tigers are still in the division right??

I think they start of very slow and very poorly, but end up being a pretty fun and competitive team to watch. From Memorial Day to end of the season they will be over .500, but finish with about 77 wins.

Biggest surprise is that Joe Orr's sworn archenemy John Danks has a pretty good year; 13-9, 4.00 ERA
Abrew hits 30 HRs, Dunn hits 40 but sub .210. Davidson and Adam Eaton become the new grinders, and speaking of that bigfan will have a lot of axes to grind to say in the 34 Sox threads he starts this year.

I predict 90 losses, though at least it will be interesting to see some different players.

Yogi Abreu will be the best Cuban import of recent vintage. Maybe not a better career than ManBoyPuig, but more productive over the next few years.

82 wins. For those of you who don't believe that's a good season worth enjoying, blow me.

Kansas City & Cleveland will come crashing back down to earth & the Twins still blow. The White Sox have to finally start abusing those teams, right? Right?

I hope.

89 losses. And a few hilarious games of Dunn in LF.

Serious prediction:

Abreu hits .265 with 34 HRs and OBPs about .350 with 95 RBIs.
Sale goes about 15-8 with 220Ks and a 2.95 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP.

Kids can play. Old farts can't. Sox finish 2nd to last in the ALC.

Don't cry Frank, they win the cross-town series and bring home the BP Cup

I thought you said this was a serious prediction. Think low 20's is more realistic with 75RBI's and .315OBO

Sox announce more renovations to the stadium that just happen to be:

*A triangle-shaped hotel and parking garage next to the stadium
*A newer video board and outfield signage
*New sky boxes
*More bathrooms
*Importing angry, spoiled neighbors to live across the street and gripe about everything the Sox are doing to the stadium

I agree with the Abreu prediction. The guy can't hit in spring training. He will strike out upwards of 150 times.

Start slow, concern about back end pitching, 4th and 5th starter. Maybe 3rd if Danks cant throw over 89 MPH, which is a concern right now. HAs breaking stuff and can get out minor league in spring right now.

Never really in the race, hope is for Beckham to be tradeable and give Marcus S the job. Davidson will be up if he is doing anything in the minors, need to see if he can field as he will hit for power, but needs his adjustment period and thus will be here. Alexia on the block right now. Nobody wants to give anything for Viciedo in regards to pitching.

Lotsa power arms again, always going to make bullpen solid, but lack of a closer is always a concern that has panned out over the years, so while the staff isnt concerned about it, others are and still question the Addison Reed trade.

Laughingly stated, 'We are basically doing the same thing the Cubs are, they just did it for 1 year more, they get a ton of shit for it"

All from a good enough source while watching NCAA games with him and a guy that can "WE" and mean it.

Any real fan can say we and mean it. Anyone who says differently is not a fan of any team.

Agreed that they will not be in the race at all. Should finish 4th in the division, and you just hope you are starting to put some pieces in place. They are in a phase like the Cubs, but since the city doesn't care as much about the Sox, you don't hear as much of the whining. Would be fun to have a Chicago-Chicago WS in three or four years though.

I predict that every day of the season BigFan will make some remark about Reinsdorf &/or the team & Frank will have a minor stroke.

For my 2014 Cubs prediction it will be the same, just switch BigFan/Frank & substitute Ricketts for Reinsdorf.

The Cubs should have a payroll to match the Red Sox and Yankees, and they act like they are the Marlins/Astros. The White Sox don't. The criticism is deserved.

Frank knows the Ricketts kids? and if he ever has any real Cubs info, I would encourage him to post such info.

Dont the White Sox frequently blame their fans and say that personnel moves depend on the fans coming out?

I don't know if that is far. In 2012, the Sox only finished 3 games out of the division. 2011 was bad, and 2013 was horrible. The Cubs have been horrible for four years and probably won't be very good this year.
