Wanting to write

and instead writing

Quote:
Thanks to the sort of internecine conflict that usually characterizes the highest levels of the Afghan government, these Bulls have self-positioned themselves for a major paradigm shift; whether the effect of said shift is a return to the halcyon days in which the Jordan Bulls seemingly perennially represented the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals (though, it should be noted, without having to go through the LeBron-led Heat), or a Comedian-in-Watchmen fall from grace is the operative question of Chicago basketball for the next ten years, regardless of the protestations of the UC upper deck's (and the Score airwaves') assortment of chest-beaters and mouth-breathers.

Having someone's name mentioned (typically a local newspaper writer and sometimes even a co-worker) and making under-his-breath comments and sounds like a passive-aggressive teenage girl.

I was more referring to him talking about how the games weren't good, but he talked about how great the Kentucky game was. He didn't even say something like "Besides the Kentucky game, the games weren't good". Now, he did that because it would be a wrong statement to make too. There were other great games.

It was like two different guys.

That's what happens when you have your narrative before the event and then you gotta try and fit everything in around it.

Kentucky game was only good because Kentucky represents the NBA minor league of college BBall according to BeerStain.

Every game could have been played perfectly and the reaction would not change

Yep. Not to mention many NBA games feature atrocious shooting and sloppy play and that that apparently fails to detract from dan's enjoyment.

I can't tell whether he actually wrote that. Great work if it's original, especially "self-positioned themselves."

Because it is widely understood that fans sitting in the lower (monied) sections of Bulls games are there for the more esoteric reasons that are distinct from said chest-beaters, mouth-breathers, and those who will impulsively cheer the team while in attendance.

There. Are. No. Statement. Games. Ever!

Except when the Bulls lose, those games are irrefutable proof of whatever criticism is being extended.

Just the slightest nit to pick, that Watchmen reference doesn't feel like a Dan Bernstein Reference™.
