So when Holmes is benched for baseball or some other programming commitment, what are his responsibilities? Or is he just paid to be the station's utility guy, filling in whenever needed, and starting (his show) when there is no other programming obligation? How does that work since I don't think he's really on the air that much during the baseball season.

This is why he gets paid a full salary and part of his deal is X number of fill in days. They seemed to have used most of those for Macs absence and would need to pay him like any other host if he fills in now, and notice, you havent heard him.

To be honest I don't mind him as much as others, but I'm not tuning in because of him either. I'd much prefer Holmes over someone like Zaidman or Haugh.



Makes sense, but then why is Holmes sticking around for so long if he's as good and marketable as he thinks he is? Wouldn't a Goff type move somewhere else help advance his radio career more than being a utility guy at the score? Or is the money and potential to move into afternoons or mid day worth the rather long wait?

Every time I see Laurence and other people from NBC in a picture together, he looks like he's posing for a picture with them as opposed to being part of the group. Like he's some schmuck who won a contest and got all dressed up for his picture with the FAR more attractive people who are on TV.
