Starters 2-5 only tie up a little over 2mil...entire bullpen costs just over 6.5mil...

I like our chances this year, LQC4. The only thing that gives me pause, is universally the experts are picking us annually at this point. Everybody loves an underdog, we are pretty much the overdog now.

That deal was roundly ridiculed at the time. As it should have been. Whether your team has $10 or $100MM to blow on the open market, bad money should be criticized regardless of allegiance.

I think Hamilton may have the "better" (more... exciting) year, but Wong the better career. Wong is sort of a cerebral, patient type of hitter. Hamilton has incredible tools (well, at least one phenomenal tool) but i have some doubts about his ability to get on base. Still, if he has the career of say a Vince Coleman, you can't really say he's a bust. I liken Wong to a Mark Loretta-type. Good, not great player but does everything decent.

After taking last year off, I think I'm gonna get back into the Matt Holliday hating business this year...

...first pitch he sees...damn near in the dirt...swing and a miss...and he just did it again...

First game of the year, 1-0, perfect situation to get Martinez out there in the 8th as the setup guy...and Matheny is gonna matchup the shit out of this inning instead...Neshek and then Siegrist...

The broadcast team just described Neshek as a right-handed Randy Choate...

...what the actual fuck...we have ROOGYs now?

Matheny's bullpen handling in midseason form. even if you're going full ROOGY, i'd still prefer Martinez. I just don't like the idea of using your 12th/13th best pitcher in a divisional rivalry on the road

Well I'm sure he didn't want to pitch Martinez to just one batter in case they needed him tomorrow...oh, wait...

In my world, Neshek is a mop-up guy only.

I picture someone telling the scorer right now he can't assume the double play and the scorer telling that person "look at all the fucks I give"

it just looks bad when the throw hit's your 1B right in the glove and the runner is at least 3 or 4 strides upline

Now, CMart can go 3 in extras, and Mike will be praised for his smart use of resources
