Not panic. It's disappointment. Were you able to listen to the game or watch? The way Pat described his at-bat was Rizzo was helpless. Going 0-4 with 3Ks doesn't really give encouragement he's adjusted his approach. Lefty on lefty? Well boo hoo Rizzo the league has them.

I listened to part of it.

I ain't saying it wasn't a horrible day for him. But it happens. It was one game, 4 at bats. You cannot tell anything from one game. Maybe he will suck donkey balls this year, but no one knows yet.

Every player in the game will have a game this year just like Rizzo and look just as bad.

Sure he looked bad. Liriano made plenty of LHB look foolish last year.

Here's his 2013 splits vs LHB:
BA / OBP / SLG / OPS
.131 .175 .146 .321

Liriano basically made professional left-handed swinging hitters look like pitchers.

Regarding what?! Matheny goofing up the bullpen costing a game so their division lead shrinks to 9.5 games from 10.5?

 Fair enough. I think the biggest complaint I had with management of late, was them going to the blue road caps on Opening Day (granted, against a red opponent, but hey hey!)

The blue road caps should be used all the time...the red caps on the road just don't look right.

It's a minor issue. Now they have the blue road batting helmets, so it's fine.

I just picked up this one.

I say throw out those first 1,075 at bats that say he is a buster. Everyone knows Theo and Hoyer simply would not acquire a buster THREE times in their management. Therefore, he must be great, despite all evidence to the contrary.

I don't think he's going to be more than a serviceable player. The hole in his swing is too damn big. I'm not very ostimisty he'll be able to adjust. I think what we see is what we get.

.250/28/85 isn't bad, but certainly not worth chasing like Theo/Jed have done. He's never going to be a top player on a WS team, maybe fourth or fifth at best. Can Bryant play first?

One game is all I need. Besides, MLB 2014 agrees that he can't hit left handers. EA sports never gets it wrong.

If you're talking about MLB The Show, that's made by Sony. EA has been out of the baseball business for years.

Does SEGA make the one for the XBOX?

At this point you should set your sites on the Sox drawing as many fans as the Chicago Sky and forget about the Cubs.
One game in and the attendance championship returns!

One game in and the idiot Sox fans think Abreau is the next Cabrera and the Sox are going to go 162-0.

IT WAS THE FUCKING TWINS!!!!

If I hear one more stupid score guy say Abreau is a "professional" hitter I am going to reprogram .670 with 87.7
They are all professionals; stupids. It's the Major Leagues.

While I agree the Cabrera comparisons today had me laughing, pressure is on Rizzo and Epstoyer. Has to be a Rizzo improvement this year and while I know lefties are a weakness for him, Rizzo looked like total shit yesterday

I read somewhere that Liriano had the most dominant season ever last year in
Lefty vs lefty head to head stats. So I'm not too worried that Rizzo looked bad.

Sure, but the guy hit .189 against lefties last year, he looks bad against them a lot.

He still has a lot of value. The Cubs could flip him for a top of the line pitcher -- like maybe Andrew Cashner.

The pressure is on for sure. For the life of me, I can't understand how the whole team can not move runners over or shorten their swing to get a clutch hit. K K K K K KKkkk.... WTF someone choke up and hit a duck snort in OF. It's not just Rizzo, it's the whole team for 2 years + 1 game. Theoball was suppose to be smart players, but so far it is more the same shit we loss with before. What prospect can even play good defense in the minors besides Almora? Which prospect has an excellent walk to strikeout ratio? Not many and that makes me worry about the future "stars"

Cashner has done nothing to show he is a top of the line pitcher.

Better numbers than Konerko through those 1075

He will be a decent 25 hr first baseman.
