Tiger being out instantly eliminates my interest. I was hoping he might return to form this year.

You mentioned that his self destructive behaviors led to his downfall. His love of pussy tarnished his image, but what did he really do besides cheat on his wife? I thought he took way too much heat for cheating on his wife. Why do people care? I worry about my sex life, and nobody elses.

The injuries have hurt his game more than anything else.

pittmike wrote:
Others have mentioned a suspicion his body is breaking down lately as well due to him really getting buff possibly ala A Rod/Bonds.

Of course, that is possible. It wouldn't shock me to learn that he was using PEDs. But, we don't know for sure, and there is no way that anybody can reasonably suspect him more than any other golfer. We know how these drug rings operate.

The same people that accuse of him of using steroids, also accuse him of being a pussy when he withdraws from a tournament. Is his body breaking down, or isn't it? I take criticisms of Tiger with a grain of salt, because so many have an axe to grind with him. Nobody would even know who Brandel Chamblee is, if he didn't accuse Tiger of being a cheater.

Are his injuries really a surprise considering his age? Isn't this kind of wear and tear expected in all athletes eventually?

Vijay needs a US Open and a British. He is 51, so I doubt it.

In the Masters era, there have only been five career grand slam winners.

Jack
Tiger
Ben Hogan
Gary Player
Gene Sarazen

I forgot about Gene. Too lazy to use the google.
Just shows how hard it is to accomplish.

Gary Player had an unbelievable career. He might be third on my list.

Not to me. A golf swing, especially one as violent as Tiger's is terrible for the back. It affects everybody differently. I am almost 38, and I am starting to deal with some back issues. I know the day is coming, probably sometime in my fifties, that I will no longer be able to play.

Jack had back issues also just to note.

Your other thing was too long to quote Chus. The trouble with the sex thing was not that he was pounding whatever he wanted or cheated. That is not what I meant at all as far as start of downfall. I think his head got fucked up because he got caught and had a wake up that he was not invincible. Then wife and family goes which I am sure he wanted to keep. Then he takes time off deals with business issues with it. Sex therapy on and on. His life got fucked up. Palmer was a swordsman so to speak but he didn't get fucked up. Had better luck?

The PED's I was not making accusations. I said or meant to say there are whispers and I could be convinced either way.

So bottom line I think he had something to do with the fall off of his game.

I love Masters Sunday and won't enjoy it any less without Tiger.

The players change but the game goes on........

Don't I remember it on Easter before or is that just random sync? I do love to watch the weekend and follow Thu-Fri on pc/phone etc. I would give a lot to play there once.

Yea I think he doesn't do the tee off anymore.

I'd just love to go once. I've entered the ticket lottery every year and never got any. Talked to a former co-worker who's going for the 2nd time with his friend who's got tickets twice from the lottery. MF'ers.

I will still watch as much as I possibly can. Obviously, it's more interesting when he is kicking ass, but those that love golf will be watching.

Are there still that many people in the viewing public that 'only' watch if Tiger is playing? Has he not been mostly dreadful for quite some time now? Why do I ask question after question in succession without giving you a chance ot answer?

What's your point? I don't care about mike's sex life. I only know about it because of his frequent mentions of it. He even posted a pic of his side strange. All I said was that he could relate.

Tiger's outside activities were only detrimental in that they may have taken his concentration off his game after he was caught. His body breaking down is too bad. He had an historic run and may have couple more left in him. I doubt it though. He will have to learn to play a different game now that he's breaking down physically. Is he capable? Perhaps. Is he willing? We'll have to wait and see. A good run with the putter can cure what ails him.

Ah then oh well. I am comfortable with my own decisions. I never seen the Chusmeister be against many things so I assumed he was fine with me living my life.

I'm with Bernstein when he says he wants greatness on the grandest of stages. Just as you'd want MJ in the NBA finals you'd also want Tiger in the Masters. For me at least it kind of loses its luster when he isn't at least one of the participants.

I watch the Masters cause it's the Masters, not for the participants. I watched long before Tiger came along and I'll watch it long after he's gone. Even though I don't follow good line I used to, I still catch as much of the majors as I can.

Mr. Reason being reasonable. Would a fan of any sport not watch the main even of the year because the best/favorite wasn't in? Tiger numbers and ratings are for networks to worry about not golf fans.

I hope the cool spring will keep the azalea from blooming too early. There's nothing better than Augusta in full bloom.

I watch The Masters no matter who is or who isn't playing in the Tournament. It's The Masters. No one player is larger than the sport or the event.

My dad was out there this week, I'll ask him if things are on schedule to bloom on time. I think it is going to
be warm there this week.

Edit -- He said with the 80 degree temps this week the flowers, while a little behind should look great for
next weekend.

No its not. Its not interesting when anyone is kicking ass. The casual fan likes when Tiger is in contention on Sunday, but the best is when there are 3, 4, 5+ guys within a couple of shots of the lead and battling it out on Sunday afternoon. This is true of most any PGA tournament, but especially true for the Master's.

Arnie couldn't even finish the par 3 last year and I beleive he has a surgery coming up soon for his back
per an interview I saw during Bay Hill so I would be a little surprised to see him tee off. I wouldn't mind
seeing them replace him but still have him on hand. I'd like to possibly see Watson or Crenshaw replace
him but I know those guys still play on the senior tour some.
