I'm on PS3 :(

But, I went on the gamefaqs message board and got some tips. There were lots of things I was doing wrong. I didn't know you could have the option of putting any skill you want in any slot. I also didn't know you could get skills and upgrade the weaponry for your follower. And I went and got myself a shield instead of two swords which has improved my defense. I also moved down to easy which has helped, I still die but not nearly as much. When I get more comfortable with the game and assuming easy becomes a cakewalk I"ll move it back up to normal.

alright much better now. Got my guy to level 20 and unlocked some good skills, moved it up to normal difficulty and am doing much better. The whirlwind skill for the barbarian is a game changer.

Not a big fan of gamefaqs, you could also look at http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/39822/?ui_fid=61411

Anyone else still playing this?

I gave up on my Barb at about level 25, too boring.

Switched to Demon Hunter, finished the game and am now onto Nightmare.

Overall, this game lacks the diversity of Champions. In this game I found the 2-3 skills that work the best and have been using them the whole time. In Champions you were constantly unlocking new and interesting skills to try out. This game lacks in that dept.

Gonna give Wizards or Monk a try to see if that's any better.

Also the whole blacksmith thing is stupid. Finally kinda figured it out, but don't see why its worth investing all that time into salvaging when you end up finding better items from drops anyway.

I do use the Gem guy to socket my items, but that's about it.

The blacksmith is useless until you get legendary or set instructions.
Until then, sell your magic crap, salvage unwanted rares...

You want a challenge?
Go hardcore.

I'm trying to finish off all the achievements on this game... I'm trying to get a level 30 witch doctor in Hardcore mode...
I've got him up to level 22 now. That means no dying. If you die... it's over.
I had a couple close calls. Exciting.

That hardcore challenge doesn't sound fun at all, sounds stressful.

Good advice on the blacksmith, I think I'm just going to ignore him from now on. Too annoying to deal with.

Gonna keep plugging ahead with my demon hunter to see how powerful I can get her. I read online that the DH is the worst solo class and I'm not surprised. I was playing nightmare on Hard and had to switch down to normal cause I was dying every 5 seconds. Normal is a little too easy, but its still more fun than dying all the time.

Next up I'll give a wizard a try.

I always been good at Diablo, so I was willing to give it a shot. Got him up to level 24 now... almost there. No deaths leading up to the midpoint of act 2. Just want to get thru this challenge so I can get back to my main character... doing Inferno on Master Level 1... want to gear up and hit Master Level 2 and beat this game proper.

Expansion is really fun. Maybe not quite up to the quality of Lord of Destruction, but it definitely improves on many of D3's issues.

What issues does it improve?

Overall, I found the game to be pretty good, not great. I love the genre so much (top down iso hack n slash rpg) and there are such few options in the genre that I put up with some of the shortcomings, but looking back I can't say that the game really stood out for me. I liked the Champions series better.

Scaling uniques (with actual unique properties)
Adventure Mode
Nephalem Rifts
Act V brings back Diablo II's atmosphere / dreariness
MOAR LOOT
Mystic / Enchanting / Transmogrify
Shields are useful

And the Loot 2.0 patches (not sure when they came out, but leading up to expansion) removed the auction house, fixed loot drops, improved set / unique items vs. rare items, added bind by account (good and bad aspects to this), and reworked skill runestones so each class now have many, many viable builds instead of 1 or 2 cookie cutter ones.

The new difficulty style (e.g. Torment II) took me awhile to get used to as it is very different from past games and even Diablo III vanilla, but I must say I really like it. And I really enjoy getting rid of nephalem stacks, monster power, and Magic Find bonuses based on those.

This is cute. So the expansion, Reaper of Souls, is coming to Xbox360 and One and PS3.
But you can't buy the expansion with your current copy.
You have to buy the full game and expansion, even if you already have Diablo 3.
It's 60 bucks.

Real nice. Seriously, fuck you Blizzard. That's a straight up chickenshit move.

Bad move, but worth it?

If you get all the content PC does, it vastly improves the game.

120 bucks for the full game?
Hard to be worth it.
Its very shitty that they're not releasing as DLC to the existing game. Makes no sense except for profiteering. Just a shitty move by Blizzard. Shitty.

Wait a second. DS your info is a bit off.

The XBox One and PS4 versions will cost $60. But that is because D3 vanilla isn't even out for those systems yet.

PS3 and XBox 360 versions are $40.

$15 / month for access to the full game. A subscription plan required to play even after the initial $30-$60 purchase is made.

Ok, so 90 bucks instead of the 120 I thought cause I paid 50 (or was it 59?) for the original./

I see your frustrations...but regardless of original purchase price...$40 or $60 for Reaper of Souls is worth it. The additional class, Act V, Adventure Mode, balancing, and Mystic enchantments are all excellent features that will change your gameplay for the better.

For PC, Reaper of Souls by itself was $40 when it came out.

Wow. That's crazy. Maybe I'll get it at gamestop in a couple years. Fuck them.

So I found it at Gamestop for $20 and picked it up. You're right, the gameplay has been greatly enhanced. It's very fun with the add on. Already at Level 70 Paragon 40 and getting stronger every day. Been in Adventure Mode at Torment 2, and trying to get strong enough to get thru a playthru at Torment 6.

I know my stuff. ;)

I'm glad you're digging it. I haven't touched it in awhile, but I put at least 100 hours into RoS I'd say. Much more fun than I had with vanilla D3.

Starting to hear rumors of another expansion pack.
Hopefully these guys do it DLC and not another new goddamn full on bundle. That sucked.

It's been five years. Wow.

I got into the Necromancer beta, but have not tried it yet.
