I thought I heard someone mention that Puig packed on quite a bit of muscle in the off-season. Is this true?

I'm not sure, but he didn't even square it.. Scully was still into some narrative from the offseason and it went way into the upper deck at Petco.

Scully also just informed me that Gyorko is actually pronounced "Jerk-O"

I heard 15 pounds...and people seemed to 'say without saying it' that it was fat from being lazy in the off-season.

I look at Puig like a high variance player like Fat Panda. He could either win the BA title, and compete for the MVP-- or get buried on Mattingly's bench and spend half the year on the DL.

The Rangers look like they're going to have one hell of a powerful offense this season. That West division will be interesting.

Who here thinks Adrian Beltre is a hall of famer? His resume is starting to look extremely impressive.

4-0 Seattle already in the 3rd. Looks like the Angels pitching staff is still shit.

I started saying he was making a case when he was in Boston.

400 Homeruns and 4 Gold Gloves at 3b is pretty impressive

The Angles already 0-2 and I know early but if it continues, is Scioscia gone soon.

Garza is sick, unfortunately the Brewers offense is also.

If you have MLB GameDay Audio or near a TV. Garza has a no-no through 6. His opponent Harang has one through as well.

It sure does. He could end up with 3000 hits, 450 homeruns, and 1500 RBI. That would probably do it. Baseball reference has his career WAR at 70.8.

In every category, he would beat the great Ron Santo.

Tigers new manager Ausmus is 2 for 2 challenging calls in today's game vs the Royals.

Indians/A's are in a challenge situation now too. Just get the robot umpires already. I'm tired of the replay delays already.

While I don't complain about it, baseball isn't known for being the quickest of sports. I don't mind the extra 2 minutes once or twice per game.

So far I'm not seeing the return of healthy and explosive Albert Pujols. His bat looks slow.

Holy hell. Anyone hear the Cingrani stat? First pitcher in 100 years to have 19 straight starts with fewer than five hits against/stat. Unreal. Not to start a career, but any stretch.

Cingrani left after 7 in a 0-0 game against the Cardinals:

7IP-2H-2BB-9Ks-only 92 pitches w/57 for strikes

Last 12 starts for Cingrani: 64.1 innings, 16 ER, 38 hits, 28 BB, 72 K (4-4 2.24 ERA)

it would be rather easy to implement. They could just look at the results, robots would be dispatched to Telander's feed; they could send the call to the umpires earpiece and he could still go into his Pallazzo antics.

Trout with a triple, double, and a walk last night. If the Angels can somehow keep themselves in the division race then I think he will for sure get his first MVP.

After a pair of 1-0 games, the Cards and Reds discovered just how much fun it is to face Homer Bailer and Lance Lynn. 4-3 with one out in the top of the 5th.

Well, he's letting the LOOGY guy pitch to a bunch of righties, so....progress?

I've thought about that situation the other day, and they are treating CMart with kid gloves. I'll be OK with this if it means he's blowing people away in meaningful starts in September

You see him starting at the end of the season?

I figured if he was going to start this year, he'd be doing it.
