 yeah I just saw that in the other thread.

That is great. Players should ignore fans, and definitely not shove them. And when they do, they deserve to get the middle finger

Especially considering the fan did nothing wrong, bunch of jag bag Cardinals. :P

Adams comes off as a jag, but what about a grown man taking a glove to a game?

IDK, is this anything? To my eye, it looked like the big man was tracking a foul ball, the fan catches it, Adams shoves him a little bit out of frustation. The fan was probably liquored up, but I don't think what he did was surprising... although, apparently Brennaman took exception to the finger on the Red broadcast.

Reds v Cardinals.... Can we just drop a nuke on that fucking stadium now?

Although the Cardinals probably have a whole new team cloned in a lab and in suspended animation just waiting to release the players one by one. Nice "farm" system.

Sure it's something. You can't touch fans, period.

That being said, it was about the weakest "shove" I've ever seen one man give another...I'm not sure even Marcus Smart would have fallen over had he been on the receiving end of it.

Brennamen is a fucking jack ass and needs to go away.

The fan did nothing wrong and then Allen shoved like him like a dickhead, so the fan flipped him off. It was a perfectly normal give and take for that type of situation.

Brennamen's tirade against Cub fans was one of the most classless monologues Ive ever heard. He basically took the position "Hey, there are like 30 people acting like jerks at Wrigley, so the Cubs will never win and Im happily rooting for them to lose"

Yeah that's a dick move for sure.

I'm more offended by his basic lack of comprehension of what's going on around him...listened to a Cards/Reds game on the radio last year and he was screwing up names, completely botching stats, and contradicting himself within the same at-bat...I'd say I don't know how anyone can listen to it, but...Mike Shannon...

Shelby Miller tonight vs. Gerrit Cole.

I had almost forgotten about Shelby... he was persona non grata by October.

They might have an innings cap that they won't talk about, for fear of the Strasburg criticism. They kept Wacha hidden in AAA, CMart to the bullpen...

Thank God Yadi was able to come up with that hit in the first inning or we'd be looking at another potential skunking.

On a positive note, must say it's nice to see the way Matheny is going with the bullpen this game...Martinez in the 7th to face the bottom of the order (and Hamilton) with (what I can only assume) will be Siegrist in the 8th to face the lefty heavy top of the lineup.

And then the catcher gets gunned down in what I can only assume was a botched hit and run...on an 0-2 count...

...now Hamilton gets the pleasure of batting against Wacha, Martinez and Siegrist all in one game.

I guess Matheny figured he didn't need to bother with the lefty-lefty matchup with regards to Hamilton...

...and Matt Carpenter with a hell of a dig to get the third out on Votto...

wow go figure this thread was bumped up to the top of the active topics. i came here just now because as i'm listening to the ass-end of the reds/cardinals game (STL tv audio) i hear the cardinals announcers say "last year everyone was talking about matt harvey and his electric stuff..... trevor rosenthal is better"

/me stops, calmly puts down his soda, and stops to muse for a second.

nope. i got nothing. words are failing me for only something like the 7th time in my life.

in the first inning when cingrani had walked holliday to load the bases, get bailed out by allen craig by swinging at ball 4, and then yadier molina got the 3 run double these cardinals announcers started pontificating "right now tony cingrani is going to have to hope that he has a plan b........ adam wainwright has plans C, D, and E"

man.... when you hear stuff like that you just want to punch your fucking television. hey redbird massive: when you wonder why other baseball fans hate you and your team with a passion, it's shit like these two things that your announcers said today.

Thats a shame because I really liked Rooney when he was here. Maybe he did the same stuff and I didn't notice it but I always thought he was pretty good.

No he's nothing like he was with the Sox. I liked him then. He's from St. Louis so he's now all in with everything Cardinals. Loves digging on the Cubs too. None of my Cardinal fan friends like him. They pretty much can't stand any of the announcers except Rick Horton. Shannon is tolerated but barely.

I think that the thing that kills me about bad announcing: there is a portion of the fanbase that thinks this way, that bad announcers default to pandering to. I've heard some hardcore Cub fans express the same things listening to Santo.

As a youte, I actually appeared in a TV commercial with Horton. Being as he was left-handed, and pitched for the beloved Birds-on-Bat, most people took what he said as gospel. He's not actually good at analyzing baseball, at least no better than Harold Reynolds.

I couldn't listen to Santo anymore. Actually stopped listening to Cubs games in the work truck for quite a few years. Horton doesn't seem bad to me but I don't watch enough games to know any better.
